Thinking about it, this level is actually the *perfect* thematic inverse of WAR. Rather than it being themed around a manmade catastrophe, like warfare, it's instead both a natural disaster (the snowstorm part) AND a supernatural disaster on account of the titanic, cosmic entity in the sky...

The level name (Sucrose SnowStorm) implies that the Cosmic Entity is an evil Deity that takes the form of a Cherry, also Sucrose is a chemical which implies that the level is in a Nuclear Winter which is a natural abnormality caused by nukes.

you are right for the parallels, but not for those reasons. war is taking place during the battle... sucrose snowstorm is the grim aftermath.

I think it goes even further than that. WAR takes place in a barren wasteland and a secret laboratory which are both very unpopulated locations while Sucrose Snowstorm takes place in a huge city that was likely quite crowded before the titular disaster took place. WAR also features a lot of fire and heat, the background glows red because of the bombs dropping from the sky and Sucrose Snowstorm features, well, snow.

For those wondering, sucrose is the chemical makeup for sugar, and the snowstorm is probably from nuclear winter, so it's literally a nuclear snowfall of sugar, which explains why the city was already destroyed to begin with. The cosmic entity (cherry?) was just finishing the job.

my theory on this level: the cherry was supposed to be a reactor to produce energy for the spire, but ofc something went wrong, thats why the city already looks that it is in ruins, and the title card it could be a reference to the people that cleaned the radioactive material off the chernobyl reactor

This would be pretty fitting for the Lap 2 Instead of the Lap 1 panic, this sounds more confident and skillful (as the death that i deservioli does)

Eh, I think they both work where they are. It’s Pizza Time gives a feeling of frantically scrambling towards the light at the end of the path, Glucose Getaway sounds more fearful and unsure, signifying Pizzelle is far less confident in her abilities. Likewise, their respective Lap 2 themes are meant to amp up the feelings the first lap carried. The Death That I Deservioli is fast paced and even more confident: Peppino knows he can take the stage, so who’s stopping him from doing it one more time? It clearly isn’t enough to stop him once…what about twice? Blue Licorice offers a similar feeling: the bells at the end give the idea that Pizzano literally cannot be impeded from escaping the level: he’s an unstoppable force and there’s _no_ immovable object to get in his way. On the other hand, Sweet Release of DEATH gives intense dread and a feeling that Pizzelle’s bitten off _way_ more than she can chew, and if she doesn’t get the hell out of dodge _now,_ it’s curtains for her. An interesting little detail I noticed is that the animation of Pizzelle clashing her fists together on a high combo syncs up perfectly with SRoD, giving the idea she’s so hopped up on rage and adrenaline that she _doesn’t care_ she’s probably going to die. Sugarcube Hailstorm, on the other hand, errs more on the side of potential triumph: the timer extends when you hit an enemy, so the only thing between you and devastation is your own skills.

when i was actually looking at the level this song is attached to, i was thinking that maybe this game/level came after WAR back in Pizza Tower. it could be a possibility as the snow/sugar could resemble ash from explosions, gunfire, and debris, maybe from a previous location of where WAR takes place

Ynow how war in pizza tower is one of the lore levels in pizza tower? I think sucrose can apply some lore to coneboy. In sucrose sugarstorm, we see mutated versions of enemys, one of them being ice-cream mutants, I believe that coneboy was a survivor of the radioactive winter, stated in other theorys.

Huh, this was the WAR equivalent? I thought it was an escape theme for a third, dummied out character. The end result looks _way_ cooler than WAR, in my opinion! While you're on ice level themes, could you extend Aw, Fudge! as well?
