A gathering of scale gliders for the 60's Soaring Club was held from May 28th to 29th, 2022 at the foot of Mt. Haku in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. The weather and wind were good, and we enjoyed the scale glider flight on both days.

綺麗な画像ですね、最近はオフスケールでビュンビュンでしたが、スケール良いですね、当方熊本阿蘇で飛ばしています。agaのmiyazakiといいます。チャンネル登録しました

Great to see such beautiful gliders, especially when you have flown the full size version. T21, K8, Kranich and the full size T31 in the video "KDQ" when it was WT915 as an Air Cadet glider

While that is an attractive looking place to fly, I wonder if the airflow is not very smooth. The variety of large trees down the valley, and the road just beyond the launch point seem to create problems at times. Obviously everyone had a great day... thanks for the video.

We are always paying attention to the road just below the launch site. There is a scene in the video where the car passes, but when I hear the audio, someone warns him in Japanese to wait for the car to pass. Thank you for your advice.

Reason why I quitt this Hobby you can see at 09:07. Lasting there was anything on the way of my glider. And sometimes Mother Earth her self. 😉😉

I love the turtle - it seems to slope soar very well. Are there online plans available for it? It is magic to see the older gliders flying so well. Built up wings and balsa is my choice as well rather than ARF foamies.

長い人生こんなこともありますよ。私は少年のころ飛ばすたびに墜落させてましたよ。それでもやめなかった。(^_-)-☆ 秋の一里野ではＦＯＸの素晴らしいシュプールを大空をキャンパスに見せてください。楽しみにしております。

この場所は規制対象外の地域でしょうか？高度規制は標高？それとも地表からの高さ？園田さんが現役のときにはかなりRC環境を守ってくれましたが，今は官僚の言いなりですね。ドローンを含めたトイラジコンで敷居が低くなった影響が大きいんでしょうけど。景色もいいし，今後も楽しんでください。

緊急用務空域外、無人航空機飛行禁止区域外です。高度は地表からです。飛行高度は関西航空事務所に届け出をしております。この場合標高も記載する必要があります。園田さんとは、園田直氏のことでしょうか？　内閣官房長官、外務大臣、厚生大臣等を歴任された方でラジコンの操縦に長けておられたとか。昔は強い味方がおられたんですね。

Call me a purist, but I’d rather see a model struggle for lift, fight valiantly and be retrieved from the bottom of the slope than the ubiquitous squealing of an electric motor lofting a ‘glider’ 100m in the air when everyone else is grounded. 60s and 70s my arse! Running towards the slope with a 2m glider on a kite string, hoping it would release, was considered cheating!

I think so too. Pure gliders are more attractive than motor gliders because they require advanced techniques to understand wind and thermal conditions.
