Sky tried to hit all balls of Australia for sixes, and missed a good lot of them. The Wall tried to hit all balls of NZ for 4 or 6, and he hit all of them. ABD scored 149 off 44, and he also scored 43 off 250+ balls (I forgot the exact number of balls he faced) If this doesn't prove that defence requires more skill than T20-ish offence, I don't know what does.

I remember I was watching this match in school hostel. I was the only Dravid fan in my hostel. Everyone was Sachin, Sehwag, Yuvraj fan because of their hitting style batting. When Dravid came to bat in slog overs, everyone started to to say," Ab 300 bhi nahi ban paayega. Dravid thuk thuk karega poore 5 over." I said," are dekho na Dravid aaj 50 maarega." but I was from inside like," 20 gend me maximum 25 to maar hi dega" and then When he hit 50, everyone lifted me on their shoulder out of joy. "Are tera Dravid to faad diya aaj." And I was feeling that I was Rahul Dravid at that time. What a time that was, the school days.

The only batsman in the history of Indian cricket who played most of the consecutive matches (both ODIs n tests) with unbeatable ground fitness. He batted at almost every position he has asked to till no 7 for India, kept wickets for so many matches too. If Sachin is the crown of Indian cricket then Dravid is the priceless diamond on that.

No Dravid used to bat at No. 5 only after Sachin, Sehwag, Ganguly and Laxman. He was playing the role of the finisher (which is a reason why Dravid has only 12 100s in ODIs but 83 50s). However Yuvraj was promoted before him in this match.

his adaptability towards game always amazes me...I have not seen this quality with any other player...he can play the throughout inning when wickets fell around him and great wall remind not out...he opens the inning when team was forced to follow on the same match...if batsmen were shortage he will take the extra responsibility of keeping which will cuisine to have one extra batsmen..ready to bat at any position...what more else team can expect from a player..sad to see that dravid deserves really more than what he has been recognised...

yes that is the difference between greats and an ordinary player- greats can adapt to any situation and play accordingly and this is not the first time he has done this but even his best performances didn't get glorified and he didnt get the due credit for his contribution. we were really blessed to see a team comprising of Kumble, sachin, saurav, dravid, laxman, sehwag, zak, harbhajan.

Just shows the capability of the person who acted as the Wall throughout his career. The fact that he came in at 290/4 in 45 overs shows the magnificent range of shots David had at his disposal but his position/role at the top of the order prevented him from using all his weapons. The number of times he helped the Indian team hey out of sticky situations are too many to recount. If I'm not mistaken this would also be the time when he was the wicket keeper for the team. His already formidable good eye hand coordination, running between the wickets and footwork just got better as a wicket keeper. But I think he did well to surrender that role to MSD the toll on his body was too much. We got a superb wicket keeper batsman and finisher thanks to that.

Brought back so many memories of my childhood...I remember coming back from my school only to switch on the TV and seeing the highlights of this explosive innings by Dravid...and pumped up with the excitement took my bat and promptly showed up on the ground to play my own little cameo with my friends....oh those golden days!!!

Rahul Kumar Abey chutiye sehwag doesn't need to play like him, sehwag is class apart! Sehwag has 2 fast triple hundreds in Test cricket which is supposed to be dravid's forte but he doesn't have a better score than him. Also Sehwag has a double hundred in ODI. Don't compare shit to gold

I remember seeing this match live. When Rahul Dravid came to the crease, our power went off. And I told my brother jokingly, “oh man not Dravid, we probably won’t even make 300 now”. And then the power comes back on the 49th over and we were both shocked! I remember that’s all we spoke about in school the next day. Good times!
