With India in all sorts at 4/85 and some big guns back in the sheds, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman came together during the second Test of the 2003-2004 series. The two belted a partnership of 303 as the Australian bowlers had no answers to the dominant display.

everyone in that era had a stylish n unique technique , be it sehwag , Yuvraj , Ganguly , Sachin , Dravid or Lax. These days technique is less focussed upon and players go for power , maybe that is the only reason we keep choking in ICC K.O stages

I rate this partnership at par with the Kolkata stand. Trailing by almost 500 runs with 6 wkts remaining in a country you haven't won for 22 years - also the giants of that era. I know McGrath and Warne were missed in this series, but don't forget that these bowlers have bowled some amazing spells in cricket history as well.

I think Adelaide is up there in terms of the challenges posed. 4 down for 85 in Australia, trailing by 470 odd runs! What are the chances of even beginning to believe that we can do it from there. Yes Kolkata will be the greatest, but Adelaide is right there on top as well.

Those early morning days. 2003 finished 10th standard and was relaxed in 11th standard and jr college use to be morning time hence I use to get up early and atleast watch an hour or two of these series. This series will forever be in my memory. Funny, how I remember so many of personal achievements from this series and when compared the same with recent series I hardly remember anything. This partnership and then in Sydney Sachin innings of 241 was incredible. I still remember in this Adelaide match, Australia didn't dismiss Dravid and hr played twice and scored 300+ combined.

Can so relaate to this.I was in my 2nd year Engineering and ws during our internals.Plan wss to to get up early and study but was glued on tv .Even now remember each and every thing about this series. Back then beating Australia in Australia was just unthinkable. Like u mentioned funny how we dont remember much abt recent series but remember everythinh so clearly abt series back then.The good ol days of pre social media life.

I was in 4th standard, would get up at 4 am and switch on the TV to watch a match. Don’t see kids nowadays studying in 4th standard doing so. I remember every single series india played since NatWest 2002, ct 2002, West Indies tour of India in Diwali 2002, then India’s nz tour, memorable 2003 wc, tvs cup 2003, this series in Australia and VB series where Zimbabwe was third opponent. What a golden days❤❤❤

King is not gonna play for a long time😭😢.Time flies away. The loss of 2019 world cup is still in my ♥. Dravid and Laxman always been a nightmare for Aussies bowlers.. 2003-04 .. Golden memories of childhood... This test series always remembered for Indian cricket team exceptional performance.. 303 runs pathnership stand by Dravid and VVS. Then 241 runs inning by Sachin Tendulkar at Sydney in the very next match.. 141 runs inning from the bat of Dada at Bribrane, Gaba.. Anil Kumble perfect replay of Shane Warne bowling... All it means this series had been a milestone in the upliftment of Indian Cricket...

Those pure timing ground shots with cricket bats that were just cricket bats and not baseball. And that crowd that cheered for the home team in Australia, unlike now when Indians dominate in crowd at every Aussie ground too - this video is throwback to days which won't be in fashion ever again, and be almost like a folklore for future generation. P.S.: It's a thrill to see Indian crowd in Australia the way it is these days, especially myself being an Indo-Aussie, but the purity of this video is something else.

How sad , bro india is literally ruining the sport. I am Indian, but I lost interest after 2019 ODI world cup. Since then I never watched a match on the TV. There's no enjoyment in the game when only Indians play and Indians watch. The sports is kind of dead in all commonwealth nations except India.

I think McGrath and Warne were not playing, but that doesn’t take the shine off of Dravid and Laxman’s superb batting. Some of the shots are just wow...And the commentary by Tony Greig, Ian Chappell and Bill Lawry...icing on the cake. I remember the Aussie coach was cocky about winning the series 3-0, but in the end, they have to scramble for the draw😊

But since then I have seen Brendon Mccullum & BJ watling revive NZ from 94/5 to 600+ and Also Partnership between Laxman and Ishant Sharma in Mohali 2010. And now after seeing India score 48 in 3 overs, Mehidy Hassan taking Ban score from 60/6 to 270...anything is possible. I will never say anything is impossible. Which is why I kept watching the recent test despite flat track hoping that Jaddu/Ash will get them allout for 200 and India will chase 100 runs in 15 overs.

My favorite test. It was a joy as a 10 year old to wake up at 5 AM and watch Dravid bat. Good ol' days of Dec 2003. They pull off an Eden gardens at the Oval.

This is the series where India started turning into a good travelling Test side. Ganguly did the unimaginable and should take all the credit for turning India into a great Test side and also taking us to WC 2003 Final. Post the match-fixing saga of 1999, Indians were leaving cricket and many I knew started hating it. From there, Ganguly built a team of honest and passionate cricketers who took us to several laurels. Thanks Dada.

Nostalgic hits. Wake up early in the morning and turn on the radio and listen to the commentry. Was not fortune enough have tv at home but extremely fortunate enough to listen to those Border Gavaskar series. Absolute jems. In recent times. I only follow test matches and short format world cups. Stopped watching ODI for a while now.
