Suicidal Tendencies Interview from Power Hour (1988)

Taken from an old VHS tape, this is from December 1988. Features an interview with frontman Mike Muir and contains clips from the music videos Institutionalised and Possessed To Skate. The video for Trip To The Brain was also featured but I had to edit it out for copyright reasons (you can see it on their vevo channel).
Power Hour was a rock/metal show that started in 1988 on ITV's Night Time Network. In 1990 it changed to Raw Power and changed again in 1994 to Noisy Mothers until it was unfortunately axed at the end of 1995.
No copyright infringement intended. The audio and visual content in this video belongs to the relevant owners.

Gotta say, the long hair with the bandana thing was a pretty cool look. Thrasher meets vatto. But ya, if suicidal looked like the dixie chicks I would still love their sound.

Rocky George is probably the most underrated metal guitar player ever! And probably because the way he looked. I am positive that if Rocky was a long haired more metal looking white guy, he would have gotten more recognition for his work. He is definably better than many of the metal guitar players from his time, that probably got more recognition because of their looks or the bands.

I think the same goes for ST. And i praise Mike and the guys for dressing the way they like regardless of what others think. Cause i am pretty sure if they wore leather jackets long hair, spikes, mohawks, they would have become more popular (not to say it wouldn't be cool as well cause it would). Rumor is and just that a rumor they had band members apart of Venice 13 a Mexican gang jeez why comment if you don’t know what the fuck your talking about they started off as a skate band in the 80s and that’s the style from Venice and northern Cali not strange to see whiteboys in penaltons and bandanas and tan chinos you can tell your from a whole other world.

Speaking for myself as a long hsired leather jakket wearing white dide who grew up on suicidal as a young boy- The multiracial band astetik is one of the things that really kaight my attention. My first konzert when i was 12 was Suicidal. I was looking all over for Rokky George but to no avail. Unknown to me at the time st had already changed the line up. I was hella bummed.

Suicidal 4 Life! Have been lucky enough to see them live three times in the 80's, few times in the 90's, then again in 2010 & 2015 (can't believe it's been that long.) Hope to catch them again soon so Mike can sign my "You Can't Bring Me Down" chest tattoo.

Suicidal is fucking awesome! I'm a huge fan of Power Metal and Progressive, but something about Suicidal I just fucking LOVE! To me they're progressive punk/thrash, if that makes any sense. Mike's attitude really intrigues me every time I hear him speak. Would've been cool to be a teen when they were up and rising.

***** The ST fans I was referring to weren't even skaters - they were predominantly Mexican homie/gang-banger types. For some reason, Suicidal attracted a lot of those, probably because they had Latinos in the band and wore bandanas. And Mike Muir had that homeboy-style image and way of talking in the early days.
