My head cannon is this is a variant of the Arkham universe.

What a horrible way to use these characters. Batman deserved to die like a hero, actually sacrifice himself or die in battle, rather than get lexured by Harley Quinn and get shot on a bench but whatever and Superman? oh yeah they didn't even care about him to begin with. Such a terrible way to end the story of Arkham Batman, he deserved so much better.

This game should have been set in it’s own Universe, not the Arkhamverse, Arkham Batman’s story ended at Arkham Knight, if it was to ever continue it should be Bruce as an old man mentoring and helping Terry McGinnis as the new Batman, not this mean spirited and disrespectful garbage that this version of Rocksteady and Sweet Baby Inc. have come up with, I will never accept SSKTJL as canon.

This game is just one gigantic plot hole, the resistance had no business defeating braniac or beings stated to be literally "faster then time"

Superman's death wasn't... like written much? like not in any real sense. He just dropped dead. Every character in this game was just kind of thrown in with the checkmarks of quotas with squad saying or doing 'boringly' (What Rocksteady and Sweet Baby Think are) Shocking things and they think that is enough for narrative. There is no emotional development of both villains and heroes, other then squad just going 'hey we are a team now, comradery and what not'. They could have had Hawkgirl part of the John fight and that would have been emotional with her pleading to save him and failing. We could have had toyman help with superman fight with Lois trying to break through to superman and then toyman thinks we are capturing supes when we just kill him causing toyman to have a psychotic break and hold Argus hostage basically wanting revenge and we have to deal with that. There are so many narrative things they could have done and characters they could have brought in for ALL of the league. Could have even had reverse flash come in pissed the flash got mind controlled and that the 'real barry' would never do that so we have two speeders fighting each other while we fight in a final fight with them zipping and beating the crap out of each other destroying the environment in the process. These are just a 'minute few' of the many things they could have been done with just a tiny bit of thinking and its better than the clever writing of 'shoot every leaguer with bullets pew pew thats writing'

This could've been a fire Superman game set in the Arkham-verse if they really tried smhg

This is a big moment for audiences and I get it, they see it as Batman with no dignity, that his character was ruined, shot similarly to how Joe Chill pulled the trigger on his parents instead of a heroic sacrifice death, here me out: 1. The writing team whether Rocksteady or that 'other' group you hate was involved they had a story in mind from a villain's point of view and many times in this story with many League members already turned. Batman had told Wonder Woman over the comms channel that integration with Brainiac was irreversible and even the Flash under the lasso of truth said that they had to die to save the world, showing the players that there was no other choice and they had to be stopped before the invasion continues more. 2. Harley had a moment of realization when after killing Batman that he had the last laugh, with her telling the squad that Bats would've wanted to die than be a puppet for Brainiac, considering the Arkham connection there's years of their many encounters, heck it's something that another version of Bruce said in another game choosing death than losing his humanity and it ties back with a trait that Dark Knight Rises Bane commented on "You don't fear death, you welcome it" 3. There was a possible theory that someone had brought up that after the Earth-2 Lex Luthor did the invasive procedure on studying the corrupting integration on Batman that the needle went to his spine and that he was paralyzed, which would explain why he couldn't fight back when he was sitting on the park bench even seeing another moment of weakness with Bruce when he falls forward and King Shark sits him back up, can't say for certain on that theory other than 'possible but I don't know for sure' 4. The Suicide Squad chose to shoot Batman in Centennial Park in front of the Superman statue to goad Superman into confronting them, even King Shark said back at LexCorp that their presence wouldn't be enough to have Superman come to them, which is why when the Man of Steel shows up after Bruce's death he laughs in disbelief and is like 'You managed to kill Batman? Wow, you must've gotten lucky for that to happen, but no matter I'll finish you myself' The main theme that the brainwashed Justice League and Brainiac have is overconfidence and underestimating their enemies, thinking how they shouldn't be a problem when over time they clearly are and beat them, Flash's temper when Captain Boomerang mocked him, Green Lantern's overconfidence in handling Deadshot, Batman not preparing for Harley's secret batch of fear toxin, Superman not taking the squad seriously until the Gold Kryptonite, and Brainiac's narcissism that trumps Riddler's ego in thinking that everything will go according to plan but starts to backfire. And 5. Yeah people wanted a heroic sacrifice for Batman, after seeing Gotham Knights doing that style of death twice when that particular game was doing it's own story and version of the Batman related characters, egged on by the creators for exploring a world without Batman, while the Bat-Family try their best to look after Gotham City and continuing with the legacy that Bruce left behind for them to continue. Remember all throughout Gotham Knights the other heroes were talking about memories of the past, grieving in their own ways, finding it hard to live up to the Batman, but the Knights got closure from Bruce with him telling them to become their own heroes, the idea that these stories hating Batman is a little redundant when there were also parts that showcased the good parts of Batman. Plus the Arkham segment in the Batman museum is the well known good aspect of the game, recall that there were the contingencies he made in case the Justice League went rogue, even a secret audio log in the Wayne Vault reveals a conversation he had with Wonder Woman, hinting that she knows about those contingencies and had Kryptonite that would later be grafted to her shield. Heck in Gotham Knights Bruce had an automated message to the Bat-Family to plant video footage of why he was kicked out of the Iceberg Lounge, to make sure no one could put together that Bruce Wayne and Batman were the same, especially since they really did feel like 2 different people Another thing is that Bruce's recordings in Gotham Knights showed how much he cared about his family, plus I really liked that as did my mom too and we would discuss how rare it was for Bruce to speak with vulnerable emotions, aside from the Oracle hallucination scene and the reveal moment in Arkham Knight. Probably because me and mom are a simple audience, no expectations, just neutral opinions and interesting discussions, plus to reference a moment you said in the video 'this is considered comedy?' comedy can be subjective and there are different audiences who get or don't get the joke, but no this wasn't comedy Batman mocked Harley's speech by calling it a bad standup routine, and Harley being Harley went with the flow quickly and came up with a comeback of ending on your best joke. Though here's something interesting every time a replayed the boss battles with the Justice League, their bodies were later phased away, which could explain the infused enemies because Brainiac has plenty of DNA samples to pass onto his army. Plus the only thing I have to say for the many of the personalities of these characters in the Arkham Saga is that a lot can happen in 5 years so it's up to audience interpretation for how to connect the dots on where the characters are now in their journey.

I mean ofc rocksteady will back down and act as if it had always been planned, by saying they're just clones and stuff. The current sales figures and the public backlash allow for nothing else. but what happened happened. we all saw Batman's death. The fact that they seriously didn't have the human decency to rewrite Batman's death after Conroy's passing and instead used his final work to execute his character like a rabid animal is so incredibly disgusting and unforgivable

Kwing, I’m a true fan. I knew the moment I heard about this game and how Batman died, that WB Games did give a crap about the storyline. I find this game a disgrace to Kevin Conroy. People have told me that it’s not a disgrace and that he knew what was going on. But I look at examples like Mark Hammil and his role as Luke in the Last Jedi. I don’t think Kevin would have done this game if he had known the uproar it was going to cause. I don’t blame him though. Because like Mark Hammil, I think he just wanted to give fans one more game. He wanted to bring joy to fans and make them happy.

💐💐I just can’t take the level of disrespect for both Batman and Superman in this game so as a way of rebelling against the crappy writers for making this piece of shit game and to make myself feel better , I always go watch the good stuff which includes , Superman , The Animated Series , Teen Titans , The Animated Series , Batman Beyond , Batman , The Animated Series , Justice League , The Animated Series , Justice League Unlimited. In Fact , Last Weekend I saw the episodes Epiloque on Justice League Unlimited And How Long Is Forever From Teen Titans The Animated Series , which are both my favorite episodes in Justice League Unlimited And Teen Titans because the writing in both these episodes is excellent in my opinion unlike any of the crap in this game which features Terry , his Dad , Bruce Wayne and the other episode features Starfire , Who Is My Favorite Character In The Whole Entire D.C. Universe Because Starfire Is Me If I Was A Character In The D.C. Universe !!!! . 💐💐 Two things Iam curious about is what happened to the Titans and Terry in this universe. My guess is Terry does not exist in this universe considering Batman was shot in the head and The Titans were either killed or taken captive by Brainac !!!! . 💐💐

There really should've been a scene where batman trys to fight off the mind control and then when you kill him he tells the squad how to defeat brainac. That would've gone a bit better than whatever the hell they did here. They also shouldn't have had this take place in the Arkham universe

You know…if your gonna make a game where you kill Superman, you know what would have been a cool idea? Have Doomsday in the game! They could have had Doomsday locked away in one of Lex’s secret labs because Lex had been trying to find a way to control him, the Suicide Squad finds the lab and Doomsday, Superman is about to attack them, they release Doomsday, and you have Boss fight with Superman but you don’t play as the Suicide Squad, you play as Doomsday and fight Superman, and in the end like in The Death of Superman they both end up killing each other, As much as I hate this game, playing as Doomsday and fighting Superman would have kind of been a cool way to kill Superman instead of just shooting him in a lame Boss Fight with characters who should stand no chance against Superman.

I dont really hate how they killed off Batman in this. In fact i think it really coul have worked. Unfortunately the reading is terrible at what it wants to do so it ends up not working. In the hands of a better writer yeah it wouldve been contraversial but nonetheless worked.

There is evidence and therorys that the real justice leauge is actually alive and wonder woman was the only real death and with the live service aspect my guess after the last braniac is defeated they'll find the leauge or whatever and this is the excuse why they arnt around to help

Wow I generally don’t like saying this, but I feel betrayed. My dad introduced me to the Arkham series when I was a kid and that was the first time I heard Kevin speak and it was awesome. A ton of Batman stuff followed, but nothing beats Asylum city origins and knight that was my Batman. And now this is what they do to him? Not only does it make Batman look bad it also makes Harley look bad, I don’t wanna be angry at her I love Harley Quinn but this is probably the worst version of the character. I would be angry, but being angry takes to much out of me, I don’t even have enough in me to angry just disappointed. How could you Rocksteady how could you kill my hero like this? How could you tarnish Kevin’s legacy like this? All the times he talked about staying strong and preserving, only to talk like a whiny grunt and get shot like how his parents got shot. You are dead rocksteady you did it you failed you failed.

Personally I don't want to be angry at a video game and I want to like the game but I just hate that they brought the arkham Batman back for this generic live service game. There are so many ways they could have pulled this off,plus the whole premise is still bullshit to me but whatever. It should have never been set in the Arkham verse,just let it be it's own thing.
