I also was like that, I got 10/10 scores on elementary school, learned about anime manga and games, I got 8-9/10 and after I got a lil older 6-8/10, since I totally stopped studying... wait I never did... Since I'm pretty gifted in intellect, Being measured as 138 and 132 on two different categories of IQ, both related to learning and the rest being pretty meh, getting an meh result of 119 points. It's to the point where I can improve basically on the same level of a normal person that studies normally by literally doing nothing, sometimes even being better than them. For example, I got to an average chess player level (even getting to a similar level to my father) by knowing the basics (such as controlling the center actually knowing only one opening) and playing a few game once in a while, (There were even improvements even after not touching the board for weeks) (Although this method of mine is a lil bad, since ot involves only pure calculation and creating strategies in game, thus my beginning is shitty and gets pretty stuck if my opponent keeps following the book) when it comes to tetris, I quickly increased my average to 200k, taking about... a single beginner tips video... and a while ago I had an average of 400k although my score probably decreased, cause I got used to the puyo puyo tetris on my switch,but still, I got an 400k average after playing for around 3 months, a few days every month, sometimes with an interval of weeks and a few games every session, I guess that's not bad.
