Şehzade Süleyman, en yakın adamı Pargalı İbrahim ile birlikte çıktığı bir avda alır kötü haberi. Babası Yavuz Sultan Selim Han vefat etmiştir. Şehzade Süleyman hiç beklemeden, İstanbul’a doğru yola çıkar. Şehzade Süleyman hızla payitahta ulaşır. Hiç beklemeden cülus törenine katılır. Bir günde hayatı değişmiş. Sultan Süleyman olarak padişahlık hayatına başlamıştır.
Bu sırada, Karadeniz üzerinden içi köle yüklü bir kadırga, İstanbul’a doğru gelmektedir. Kölelerden en ateşli olanı ise, kaderini değiştirecek olan yolculuğa çıktığının henüz farkında değildir. Geri dönmek için çaresiz bir şekilde isyan etmektedir.
Sultan Süleyman, padişahlığının ilk gününde verdiği buyruklarla nasıl bir padişah olduğunu göstermek ister. Ama bu kararlar herkesin hoşuna gitmeyecektir. Sultan Süleyman ise gönderdiği mesajlarla, tüm Avrupa’ya meydan okumaktan çekinmez.
Alex, tüm isyankarlığına rağmen, Topkapı sarayına getirilir. Onun bu tavrı ilk andan itibaren Valide Sultan’ın dikkatini çeker. Ama Alex’in sarayın kurallarını öğrenmesi uzun sürmez. Kendisine büyük bir hedef seçer. Alex, Sultan Süleyman’ın karşısına çıktığı ilk gecede onun ilgisini çekmeyi başarır. Sultan Süleyman’ın eşi Mahidevran ise Manisa sarayından yeni gelmiş. Eşi ile görüşmeyi sabırsızlıkla beklemektedir.

Fun fact: Hurrem Sultan, as Suleiman the Magnificent's advisor, wrote letters back and forth with the King of Poland Sigismund II Augustus, and played a key role in maintaining a healthy relationship between the Polish and the Ottomans. She was the only consort in Ottoman history to have personally communicated with a foreign KING.

@@rose-yw5xf Nurbanu also had contact with the Venetian Dodge and Catherine de Medici. So Hurrem wasn't the only consort to have done so, but she did open the doors for others after her to be able to do so.

As a Pole, I confirm that. 😂 She’s also believed to write letters to Sigismund I The Old. And despite the fact she wasn’t of a noble origin, when Suleiman wanted to glorify her, he called her “the sister of the King of Poland” due to their friendly relationship. ♥️

Yeah, Hurrem Sultan was 10 times more powerful in real life than we see her in series.. they had to 'nerf' her, 'limit' her a lot in series to fit the drama purposes, she was nowhere that weak lol.

The scene might or might not be true, but Isabella did accept the Sultan as her overlord . Although the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth never fell to Ottoman rule, the Queen Isabella, was never the ruler of the Commonwealth, rather she was a princess belonging to the Royal family of Commonwealth but not the ruler. She was the wife of John of Hungary who ruled the remaining Hungarian state as the vassal of the Ottoman Sultan, after the battle of Mohacs in 1526. This scene takes place in 1541, when John dies leaving his wife and baby son (as named John). So when she offers submission to Sultan, it is not as the ruler of the Commonwealth but as the ruler of the vassal state of Hungary.

I‘m not sure about ottoman empire but the Prophet Mohammad never wanted anyone to bow or do anything special for him. Because no human being is supreme, only God is supreme that‘s why we should bow only to God.

I suspect that conversion did not last. Hungarians were not at all happy with the Ottoman occupation. The chapel containing Suleyman's heart was demolished and buried as soon as that occupation ended.
