@@EdsonR13 He didn't. He only drank with Blair on nights 1 and 2, then Blair said it'd be bad to drink with her. Blair had been Sweethearted, so it wouldn't have mattered anyways, but Dom did not do that.

@@ino_mation night 2 was the only night that mattered and that was the night he drank with her even after having a talk with her, he messed up her only chance to get useful information

I'm not saying Jon is stubborn, but I am saying if you're ever in a BotC game with Jon and you're the Poisoner, poison Jon.

Obviously a bad punt by Brooke right out of the gate. She realized it and owned up to it, but it did shift things in Evil's favor right away, that she outed herself as an outsider right away.

@@Phyrre56 Actually it was a pretty great bluff by her. Only Jon ruined it because he thought he was the good lycanthrope. If it wasn't for that by claiming saint evil would keep her alive making sure no one is sweetheart poisoned.

Tempest seems to be equal parts unintentional brilliance and intentional throw.

He had no idea what was actually going on to be fair. We’re able to see everything that’s happening. He did the best he could.

His choice to let Jon roam free for the first 2 days was also, content wise, a superb decision.

Definitely, and his defense on the final day was so good too! He did an excellent job of shaping the conversation to make it sound like Tom was the only logical choice.

From my perspective he made the best possible decisions during the day paired with the worst possible decisions during the night, which thankfully for him balanced out in his favor

Carley is definitely "too good" at this, to the point that it undermines her game. I think most people would rather be suspicious of Carley and lose for not listening to her, than believe her and get played for a fool.

I think Tom being so secretive of his role to the one person he needed to trust cost him a lot of early cred that circumstances and early "Openness" Tempest got.

I don't think it was a case of people not trusting Carley at the end. I think it mostly had to do with there being more pointing towards Tom than Tempest. Tempest was a "failed" Amnesiac in the eyes of the other players, not too crazy, because Amnesiac doesn't always figure things out, and others have been in those shoes before. This felt way more deserved for Tempest to win with the long-con Amnesiac than the time Carley pulled Amnesiac out of her ass without any prior bluffing of it to suddenly win. Tempest also waited to nominate on the last day, while it looked like Tom had rushed into it, giving a lot of hesitation to ghosts voting. Carley also simply had the feeling of it being Tempest, without evidence. She felt his Amnesiac claim was weak, but he'd been working it the whole game, while she fully trusted that Tom was the Choirboy even though he'd never came out about it to her. You can absolutely see she was gutted to lose, but she really didn't have any information besides there being an Imp, which she said herself really wasn't good information, and it doesn't point at anybody. She simply had full trust in Tom being Choirboy even though he'd kept that from her the whole game, which is absolutely the way an evil player could bluff a Choirboy to a King b/c they know there's a King. She had no weight or evidence behind her accusations against Tempest at all.

@@ino_mation Also Tom was told Blair was the demon and was like "I think my info is bull," so no credibility at all while having 2 noble pings on him.

@@Moleoflands I think Tom should have hard claimed to Carley that he was the choir boy after 2 days. Not left it until the end especially as there was no one else claiming king . Cos if Carley was evil, then if Tom died because of that, he could say only told Carley etc

Tempest literally lied on the last day and noone noticed. I get this might be edited down but he repeated the "question" he asked the ST and it went from cold to practically bingo

yes st can tell a lunatic anything they would tell a demon. I was sat next to a lunatic once and they were told I was their Marionette since the St knew if I was told that I was I was the Marionette I would devote myself to evil. they can also be told they have a lunatic I believe

Oh my. And if the fake marionette is the drunk thinking they're something else, then they would feel confirmed in their power not working. This could have the potential for the most confusing game ever.

@@SickRedApple I think I want this pair to be Adam and Carley. Mostly cause they are both good at the game and love being evil together and would take the opportunity really seriously. And cause if I was the actual demon and knew the lunatic was Carley I would just let her run. But you also have to have the demon eventually decide when to kill her because, just statistically, she will eventually point to you in the night and you would want her dead before that so that she can't put it together that her kill didn't work cause she was the lunatic and picked the real demon cause it would most likely be the only reason she would die and the game would still be going. But you also want her around long enough that people start to build worldviews based on what she said when she thought she was evil and now it is like day 3 or 4 and the town is basically starting over.

But this was the exact reason Tom was so sus as well, noone knew his role until the exact point where he conveniently had the game solving role. Tempest at least had time to build their story and the amnesiac tends to get that benefit of the doubt because they don't know their roll, at least to start with

Honestly. Take this with a grain of salt because we obviously knew Tempest's role to begin with. But Amnesiac is not a role I really care for and I wouldn't put any real interest into trying to figure it out and capitalize on it either. Which makes the way Tempest did it believable for me. Sure it's a role thta seems so epic when somebody figures out their power and uses it to solve the game. But chances of figuring out the power unless you know the Storytellers well enough to predict the type of abilities they will give is just so very low that it's just shots in the dark and I'd probably just be setting myself up to be offed immediately rather than trying to figure it out in most games (and quite likely be denied being killed off because so many value the hope of the amnesiac figuring it out). So it's not just a tell of an evil player being easy to spot. There are some of us that could be genuine and still not get invested in that role and what some feel the Amnesiac should be expected to do or talk about be damned really.

@@Quandry1 Since the Amnesiac relies heavily on the story teller, results may vary, but a good ST would make the ability something that could reasonably be figured out my a player who knows how to ask good questions. If the player makes really specific shots in the dark like "Does my ability tell me if my living neighbor is a minion" then they only remove one possibility out of thousands. Like playing 20 questions, or Guess Who or anything similar, each question should be chopping off about half of all the ideas you can think of. "Does my ability involve players' roles?" If yes you have a place to start narrowing, if no you've eliminated an entire category of things it could be.

@@aGoshDarnTravesty even with that approach the chances are low. Though I am fully aware of it you ignore that you get an extremely limited number of questions to do it in. Having even just 4 or 5 questions to guess it is doing pretty dang good but you have to hope to even get that many usually, and if you can't get it in just 2 or 3 the info may be losing value even if you figure it out.

Whether or not you believe the amnesiac is a fun role to play, I agree that this was the main weakness of Tempest's bluff this game. He never tried to brainstorm with the town his role, and even after he claimed, he didn't ask the town for input on what he should ask despite basically being completely lost based on his previous guesses. This is very sus imo. That being said, the decisiveness to kill the king knowing that it's still tom's word against his in final 3 more than made up for his semi-flawed amne bluff.

He storytold last game as well… so it seems like Tom wants to play is what I’m getting.

Dom, John & Sully are my personal dream team. It’s a great video already when 1 or 2 of them are present, but when all 3 are together it’s the best.

Absolutely. He read as incredibly good to everyone but Carley for the entire game, even when defending himself at the end, when we've seen GOOD player begin to sound evil. All the credit in the world.

I like Tom very much as a player as he usually brings something unique to the table. Most games he comes up with something no one else has thought of

I really like Tom as a player in most games, just not in BOTC. He has stated multiple times that he doesn't like to outright lie in the game, which is really bad when he's evil and not as entertaining as it could be with another player instead when he's good.

I think tempest had the benefit of not being as experienced, so his guesses being close to actual roles makes sense, as does him not finding out his actual role. I think he played really well and deserved it.

Yeah, that maybe why Carley had vibes that it was Tempest because her subconscious registered that mistake by Tempest but her logic brain missed it.

Ben always reiterates that to us, but I dont think its repeated that much to the players with every script. Unless a player gets and plays Ben's amnesiac they may not be sure how he chooses to run it

That and players couldve taken it as a sign of Tempest's inexperience at choosing questions

Came here to say that too. She has been in Tempest’s spot before though and won, so fair play. Great to see her back and hats off to Tempest. Being believable is everything in this game and he was.

Yeah I noticed that too. Seems like a poor loser. Everybody else was laughing and having a good time. And she sat there being pissy because she lost. Bad sport.

Well, Sullivan could have been evil and he just wouldn't have said anything. But yeah, there wasn't any evidence to point toward Tempest *or* Tom. Everything was circumstantial and social. And on that front, Tom was more suspicious as he kept quiet to everyone, even the King, until the 11th hour. Tempest wasn't in the clear though, because his (bogus) ability didn't seem earnest.

I think Adam asked if they could add one to the script again, but then quoth the raven, "nevermore" 😁

@@eazyleezy85 yeah I love Carley but she hates losing. Especially when she told everyone Tempest was the Imp and they didn't believe her. To not be trusted can really hurt. I guess she's just too good for people to believe she's telling the truth.

I’d have been annoyed as well. Tempest was horrendous as the demon, especially the final nomination speech that boiled down to “uuuhh it’s Tom and yeah it’s Tom cause uh reasons. Tom.” This episode was as scripted as the wrasslin that many of these folks watch.

Problem is, Carly has been SO convincing in the past as a demon/minion that there will always be a suspicion when she plays - and that’s great for us viewers!

Also, this time, she had no real evidence to persuade people away from an alternative view. She was accurate enough, but it required a lot of assumptions. I understand why it was doubted - especially as I feel Tom played his hands too close to his chest this game

@@eazyleezy85 I think half of it is really the biased notion that other players go into the game with when it comes to some of those expressions (and even the biased notions of some of the fans watching for that matter). I have to wonder if that plays on Adam and Laurie as well. Because they are two more that suffer from that a lot as well.

@@Quandry1 i agree Adam and Laurie do get some extra evil shade thrown at them but i feel like the other players are more willing to accept when Adam or Laurie say they are good. but Carley gets more than anybody she's a victim of her own success even when she's clearly and logically proven to be on the good team some players still cling to the "Carley is evil" play and it's clearly frustrating.

@@hwg2942 they aren't really more accepted as good. Laurie in particular usually settles for being ignored as harmless more often than he gets accepted as actually good.

It was really disappointing to see her frowns and massive eye rolls when the ending was revealed. Everyone else was smiling and cracking jokes and it made her look like a sore loser. I know it’s hard to be right and not convince people for the win, but there was a lot of fun stuff in that game to celebrate. I hope she was just having an off day.

I was thinking that was a tell too, 100%. But the confusing thing for the players is he was super loud on day 1 and 2 before he knew he was evil, so he's naturally giving off conflicting tells. Also first impressions are so important the good tells (which were right at the time) probably stuck in people's minds more, as multiple goods said at the end of the game.

I mean, aren't most of them roleplayers? I know Tom and Laurie are big D&Ders, and a bunch of NRB were part of that wrestling RPG that predated this channel...
