Halway through I had to stop as it was making me feel so sad for this kid. I have a 3 yo myself (and we have three older children part time aswell) and even if we are exhausted, we cuddle a lot, talk a lot laugh, play and try to spend time together. Of course I can lose my temper at times, but it's important to still talk, explain, comfort, apologise and tell your kid over and over how loved they are. Never ever hit a child, no matter what. That solves nothing, teaches nothing and only makes it all worse. Be the adult, be the example, be the rolemodel the child needs.

Imagine you're a freaking 4 years old, you come to your mother, excitely showing your toy but she said "go away". you got startled, make your toy fall and she got angry "why you always throw your toys?" @@nanasekunurugi yup. it's not right, but it's what they learned from their parents (not only Asians though). People often think that what kids need is punishment, or "discipline" when they are acting out. They think they are showing "tough love", and that they're actually helping their kids grow strong and independent. For better or for worse though, kids don't think like adults. What a parent might understand to be an expression of love or concern can be perceived as hatred or disdain. Which can obviously be immensely traumatizing for a child. It's sad

It teaches the child they are not invincible and has consequences for their actions. Obviously it should be controlled and not an actual beating. There are children in free range households who hit and curse at their mom with no consequences. These children w/ no consequences also take their behavior outside with them cursing at teachers etc.
@ariesaraya18226 ай бұрын
This is primarily because there is no equal parenting. The wife is expected to work but also do all the parenting and housework. She's exhausted and at her wits end but gets zero help from her husband. Her mom instead has to take up that burden. If you have kids expect that you have to take care of them. Also dont have more than one if you are already not doing well w/ the first one.

This right here is why if I did have kids, i'd want to have no more than 1 Parenting can be exhausting (More so if you're also working) and having to give more than one kid love, attention and parenting could wear you down. Though it's not the kids fault and they deserve to have a parent give them these things without treating it like a burden. If I had only one kid I could focus on them and just making sure they have all they need. Without wearing myself thin, they're all too busy to give him love and attention but when it comes to punishing him then they're all on board. No wonder he feels hated

A child needs siblings, if not now, then when he is older. You will not be around always. By the way, don't try to do too much parenting. Just enjoy it and let them enjoy. Asian people society is somewhat different from the Western. before cursing the parents, you should know their background. I'm not saying that the parents have not done anything wrong. But people should avoid judging people by using individual attitude. And at least, the parents who bring their children to see a doctor/physiologist, they wish their children to become more mature.

@@Hanna_63332_it is not able blaming. If you understand how childhood psychology works you will understand how much impact it will have on a child. Let me ask you a few questions: Do u have bad relationships with people? What do you do when it happens? When someone tells you that they have an issue with you, do you pay attention to their problems or do u try to reason with them about why there is nothing wrong with you or the problem lies with them? Do u find yourself “attracting” bad people in your life without knowing why? If for the second question ur answer is reasoning with others or that nothing lies with you then yes you have experienced unhealthy relationships. If for the last question you answered yes then yes u have experienced some kind of trauma in childhood and do not know how to identity a unhealthy person because of the way you were treated by your caregivers. Acknowledging trauma serves as a way to transform unhealthy patterns into healthy ones. And finding the right people who can love you correctly
