Glad to see that stencil machine getting some Stan love. That thing literally weighs a ton! Cheers, Tom

And the job crane - it looks like it’s simply welded at the top. I had a cool upgrade idea. Hooking a brace bar with different notches to hold bigger weights.?

When I reported to Air Force basic training in 1966, we were each instructed to stamp out our name for stenciling our duffel bags. The machine we used was very similar to if not identical to yours.

Interesting stuff, Stan. Intermics are really useful, but a pain to read.

Did you use the argon purge on the D2 heat treats?
@ShadonHKW11 күн бұрын
Na, it's getting ground anyway.

Does the hole in the chuck create an imbalance while in use?

Not that I've noticed (top speed 1000 rpm)

Segment? You mean sector arms?
@ShadonHKW11 күн бұрын
Yes, sector arms that create a segment.

Stan, will you sand blast that Cylindrical Square before grinding it, mainly to get rid of the scale build up in the depressions on each end of the cylinder faces ?
@ShadonHKW11 күн бұрын
I just scrubbed it down in the sink with red scotchbrite, it leaves a durable black finish everywhere that isn't ground.
