For this summer pot I use pink, white and purple osteospermums (African daisies) and trailing lobelia 'Sapphire' for a long lasting display. It will flower all summer long.
Osteospermum come from South Africa and like a sunny spot and well drained soil. They are frost tender and will be killed off by a harsh winter. In a mild winter and warmer climes they will flower year on year. If osteospermum survives the winter any frost affected or straggly growth can be cut back in the spring to keep it looking good and nice and bushy.
Osteospermums are drought tolerant and so great for pots.
I love trailing lobelia as it flowers for ages. I especially like 'Sapphire' as it is a wonderful, intense blue.
