A throw back to the middle of June just at the end of the Summer heatwave. I took on two outlying Bluestack summits that don't really fit with any others. I set off early to beat the heat thinking it would be a relatively simple and easy walk but I was wrong yet again! Join me for great memories of what it was like to be warm and sunny ☀

You made a lovely job of this video Niall! I really enjoyed the unhurried drone footage and the light and breezy flow of the video (obviously your tired legs weren't feeling light and breezy though!) Your increased confidence with the drone was fab - the expansive views from up high really were special!! 😉

Thanks Miriam, it was a tough day but one I really enjoyed. Those two summits sit in between some higher peaks and make great drone shots 🙂

Wow Niall the Blue stacks look amazing. Rocky like the Burren. Brilliant drone footage and very relaxed vibe. Loved it. well done man. I spotted way to many camp spots.

Lots of rock but also lots of boggy grassland that you have to climb through to reach the rock. It's definitely worth it though 😊

Niall, this really had a summer vibe☀🔥 Land of the loughs💧and classic Bluestack ground up around there👣There is definitely something about hiking solo and that stillness and oneness👍 Lovely drone footage of the Bluestacks giving a real sense of their wonderful character👍 Was up Croaghnagranagh the other day and I would say it is not that often visited.

Niall, this was so beautiful. You captured some amazing scenery. Looks like a tough walk in that weather and terrain. Good on ya. Challenge complete. To my shame this is a range of mountains I really don't know and I need to explore more. Maybe you can show me round.

Hi Niall. Really lovely drone footage. What a nice range of mountains, lots of lakes/loughs and ponds. The music suited the video well, nice and relaxing. Sometimes when doing tough hikes we do ask ourselves that question " what am I doing" ?? as we slog up a mountain. But the views and peace from the top make it all worth the effort. All the best 👍

Class Niall, some amazing drone footage showing of your beautiful mountains! There was a small lough with what looked like an island at 24:23. Looks like it might be a nice wee camp site, what do you think?

I did look at that Gary. I'm not sure, I have a feeling it's covered in heather and could be tricky pitching. You wouldn't even have to get your feet wet though I'd say 🤔

Nice video! The landscape is gorgeous although the terrain sounds like it's rough. I know what you mean about solitude when hiking solo. I just spent a week on hols in Lapland and hiked various trails through the fells. At this time of year the sheer silence is deafening. You are pretty much the only thing making noise apart from the wind or an odd bird. It was very pleasant to occasionally stop and just let the quiet wash over you. 😊
