Summer WA Jetty Fishing Rockfish and Lingcod - (SURPRISE CATCH! + Catch and Cook!) SO MANY FISH!

Best day on the jetty ever!
I've never caught so many rockfish off the jetty. This was a crazy day of fishing, camping, and cooking with the wife. I can only hope my next trips will be as successful!
Chasing these fish in saltwater is a whole new beast that I am just starting to learn!
Maybe I'll get a monster lingcod next time, too!

It can be super hit and miss, but when it's hot, it's crazy! Any jetty off the coast has em, too!

Awesome. Haven’t seen jetty fishing that good for awhile. Our jetties get a lot of pressure so it’s usually hit or miss.

16:29 yes there is, the minimum size is 22" and if your in puget sound its 26".

Yeah definitely min sizes in some places and during some times. In this particular spot there was no min size! Wdfw regs are a pain to read thru. Always gotta double check and make sure lol

Dude I am so upset we lost the footage... We found a school and had MULTIPLE hookups on at the same time that kept popping off! It was frantic lol and she BARELY won when my last fish popped off, she hooked up right then before I had a chance to cast back out. Damn GoPro's being all unreliable sometimes! lol

Gotta do the combo! Pick up some crab traps, toss em, fish around for a couple hours while they soak! Crabs and fish all at once!

One of my favorite fishing spots. You said, "I don't know how deep it is here." That far out on the Jetty, its about 35-65ft depending on how far out you cast and where the tide is. BUT! Just on the other side is a darn good place for perch.

@@FishandForage if i was to go for perch and be able to get lings and bass...go to the hollow. fish in between and outside(northside) of the rock on the incoming. you get a little everything. even greenling.

Washington does have size limits on ling cod ... just not that particular Marine area.

That is good to know! The regs up here can be crazy and I usually triple check them for whatever new area I'm fishing. I'll have to be careful when I try another spot for sure.

Fish and Forage lol I got it now you meant Summer in Wa not Summer Wa. I’m kind of slow sometimes. Yes those gray clouds and all. Come to central Washington it’s nice and sunny here. Actually it was 106 yesterday and 100 today. For sure that was a lot fish. We gotta fish sometime though. I have a video in mind for us.

Fish and Forage It’s right below Auburn and by Bonney Lake. Not good at all. It’s been way too hot and since me and my wife have gone back to work I’m not able to fish as much as I used to. So I’ve just been getting skunked. 😢

7 is the limit then did you not caught and kept 9 of them? 2 earlier on the low tide and 7 on slack or high tide?

Trick? Bring a lot of jigheads and soft plastics! I always lose a bunch when fishing off the jetty. I think it's unavoidable :( Good luck when you get out there!

It's a white meat fish, so it tastes like cod, halibut, perch, walleye, ect. Great for fish and chips!

@@notpastranapastrana2403 for sure download the "Fish Washington" app. It has an interactive map that tells you regulations. As for learning, I have a couple videos, but you should totally check out the Addicted Fishing videos, as they have a ton of how to tutorials for all sorts of local fishing!
