I realize this video is 4+ years old, but wondering if you still have this pontoon boat??? If you do, would you measure all the pieces of the fork for the wheel. I know the curved square is 1" square, but I need the length, and the length of the two flat bars. Also the distance from the ends to the bends. Classic Accessories has discontinued all of their watercraft sales and parts. Thank you. Love the ingenuity you have used in setting yours up...

So, just my two cents. I did my own modifications and added a seat swivel with a 11.34-17.24 inches pedestal. THAT was much too high and while attempting to row with my seat right in the middle of my boat, it was almost impossible. When I got back to the shore, I moved the seat all the way back and the oar mounts all the way forward. At that point I could row better but it was still not easy. SO, my point is while this 7" pedestal might work, stay away from something like what I installed unless you don't use oars much.

Very good job. Hello from Russia. My catamaran is 4 meters, new, we need to test it on the water, with a motor. All the best to you!🤗👍

I'm losing my mind. Just installing the swivel w/o the pedestal (for now). What type of screws/bolts did you use to attached the swivel to the seat bottom? Looks like there are some spacers in there too. Any info would helpful. I'm hardware challenged. Yours may have come with the swivel already attached. Mine is the base Colorado model. So it might be a problem in that however it is attached was already done for you.
@FishandForage26 күн бұрын
I bought a swivel seat base and then went to a hardware store to find the right set of stainless fasteners. I think I even brought the whole base in to make sure everything fit lol I was lucky to live near a smaller hardware store with a really nice fastener selection. But I still always bring in whatever I am sizing fasteners for into the store so I don't mess anything up!

@@FishandForage Finally success. Got the swivel installed today. I watched one of your videos and the lightbulb came on. I was over thinking it. Now that I figured out how to do it. I was thinking about adding one of those 7” extensions. Can you comment on what the elevated seating brings to the table. I promise not to bother you further 😂. Thanks

You should be able to get them on the classicaccessories website, but I found that they often are out of stock on various parts and pieces. Could be easier trying to find it on ebay or even fabricating one yourself.

Question for you. I have a Colorado XT that I'll be using on a slow moving river. The river's current can be up to 5 mph. How fast does your 30 lb thrust motor move your inflatable? Trying to get an idea if 30 lbs is enough for my needs. Tnx
@FishandForage2 ай бұрын
It would not move it fast enough to go against 5mph current, but it would definitely help maneuver through it, if it's deep enough. The other problem is the pontoon gets pretty squirrely when moving quick, so if you did get a motor big enough, it'd be a challenge to keep it pointed upriver while also fighting the current!

My apologies up front. I'm not good at this stuff but I'm trying. I have the exact same challenge in front of me. I have a 7" pedestal and a swivel. I understand the 2 sets of the original hardware to attach the swivel to the pedestal and the pedestal to the frame. The step I'm missing is what specific hardware did you use to attach the swivel to the seat bottom?
@FishandForage2 ай бұрын
I had a pretty nice hardware store nearby with a huge fastener section - I brought in the plates I needed to connect and found stainless steel bolts, nuts, and washers that would fit between them. I wouldn't use anything but stainless, since everything's gonna get wet on the water and I didn't want to deal with rust or corrosion!
@No3Jacks2 ай бұрын
@@FishandForageThanks for the reply. I think I have it figured out now. Pan head course screws have been recommended to attach the swivel to the seat bottom. The rest is pretty straightforward. Thanks for the reply.

Just a deep cycle lead acid battery - I think it was about 50 or 60AH. I recently upgraded to lithium for my kayak and I'd recommend that if your budget allows!

Thanks for this video! I used a few of your trucks same as the snap on fish finder mount, even ended up getting a striker 4 as well! I didn’t go a 1/2 Mile on my maiden voyage and caught a 26” Stealhead trolling a spinner. Good times and great Raft! However I mounted my motor on the bow and that was a game changer as well! No more reach around as and cramped neck/shoulders. Seat extension will be my next improvement and dual transport wheels. Thanks again!

@FishandForage4 ай бұрын
Depends on the brand, reels will say 2500, 3000, 4000 or something like 25, 30, 40, ect. the bigger the number, the larger the reel, it's not really a specific size of anything, just a number manufacturers use to let you know how big or small the reel is :)
