About the economy being less sensitive to interest rates than we might have thought - he may be right. Something a lot of ppl don't remember was a few years ago when we had record unemployment and low rates, economists and the fed were baffled bc that historically meant higher inflation - but it didn't. They couldn't hit 2%.... and now - we jacked them up and they haven't had the same effect in the opposite direction as they have historically. So it might be true that today's economy is simply less sensitive, in both directions, to interest rates.

yeah, good point. Clinton balanced the budget. Bush II really messed everything up, with dumb tax cuts, unnecessary multi-trillion dollar wars, and unfunded social programs. And then there is Trump, the dumbest POTUS in American history. We were making fun of what a con artist was in the 1990s. Trumps own hand picked cabinet thought he was an idiot. We are still paying in inflation for Trump's astronomical deficit. We live in very dumb times.

He very adeptly called the inflation story in 20/21, well before it became evident in 22

Looks strong? Come on Larry you know better. Besides the number will be revised down as it has been every time, jobs are not jobs that we need.

It seems to me like it's important for these central planners in particular to ensure the crash isnt seen ahead of time. That way, when it happens, it's "unprecedented" and "uncertain" and thus the kitchen sink "needs" to be thrown at the problem, so the corporate asset holders can never suffer losses. Not sure the tricks they played in 2008, 2012, 2015, 2019, and 2020 will work again though. Not many kitchen sinks left to throw before the shit truly explodes. The next attempt at mega QE to recussitate the zombie economy has far too many implications. The only thing that made it work until now was the lack of inflation risk in the consumer economy (and this "working" came with the sacrifice of bond insecurity, debt costs, risk moderation, and continued widening of inequality. Now we have all these things and the inflation cat out of the bag. The cynic in me sees a future of real negative interest rates and debt monetization, plus increasing capital controls, but not before recessionary turmoil.
