The birth of Roman's push to the top, the birth of Lesnar's unrivaled dominance, the fallout of the Shield implosion. Roman and Brock going over rivals Orton and Cena and later having a recurring rivalry of their own. This is honestly a very historic show to look back on.

This was my first ever live wrestling event, I was 7 or 8 and watched my hero get absolutely brutalized. Cried right there in the arena. Looking back I can’t believe I kept watching after how devastating it was

SummerSlam 2014 was a very surreal experience. The death of Super Cena was completely unexpected, and seeing Brock Lesnar as the new face of the company was very chilling to see. Also the fact that this was the last ever SummerSlam to be in my home of LA, it definitely was a good time. I’ll forever miss this era of SummerSlam, and most of these events were a blast. Keep up the top quality and great work, bro.😁👍

Super cena never died cena was still on top of his game because after this match he had a rematch which nobody brings up or talks about he had a rematch and beat Brock lesnar at night of champions 2014 and then he went on to have a fight with the authority at survivor series

@@LYE333 What? he never beat lesnar at NoC 2014, did I miss something? He had Lesnar in a submission and then AA'ed him in which rollins breaks it up but it's shown in the video that Lesnar would've still kicked out even if Rollins didn't break it up. (I'm watching the match at this exact moment as I'm typing this). To add Lesnar got curbstomped by rollins when he attempted to cash in but cena stopped it and lesnar got right back up to F5 cena. so yeah, even michael cole on the announcement when they declared cena the winner by DQ (but lesnar still the champ) was confused as to how lesnar was still up after taking that much punishment. and yes i know it's scripted for anyone who's going to act like a smartahh

This brought back so many memories, I remember trying to watch the show for free on KZfaq (we didn’t have money laying around like that😂). I also remember this show having 80% of the heels winning, Rollins, Steph, Brock killing Cena, which definitely felt odd-but Overall a great show with an infamous ending.

It still breaks my heart that this was the last time we saw Randy Orton vs Roman Reigns in a 1-on-1 match. We were suppose to have a rematch multiple times since 2014, but it was never meant to be (Survivor Series 2020 and SummerSlam 2022 😔). Hopefully when Randy comes back we can finally see this match with their new gimmicks

The match at Survivor Series 2020 was always going to be Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre which is why Randy had to lose the title to Drew on the RAW leading up to SS. The only reason that Randy became WWE champ in that scenario was because WWE booked themselves into a corner of having Drew previously retain against Orton twice prior to HIAC 2020, Orton being the top heel at time they didn't wanna have lose three straight matches to Drew which is why he won da championship then. But he was never planned to face Roman in SS 2020 lol, but yeah def he was supposed to at SummerSlam 22 💯💯we need him back🙏

16 German Suplexes, 3 F5s 16 German suplexes, 3 F5s & more to beat John Cena. That alone put Cena over in a way people often overlook. Cena doesn’t even get a single 5 knuckle shuffle in. Purely fighting from underneath from the very beginning after an F5 early into the match. They made eachother in their own ways, & told a hell of a story in-match. This was Superman’s Doomsday. One for the books

summerslam 2014 was the end of my childhood I’m glad cena bounced back the following event and beat brock. But wrestling just wasn’t as fun or the same to me after 2014. 2015 was still good that was my last year actually watching WWE after that I didn’t care no more everything changed

@SuperkickStudios you're one of the couple creators I shuffle through while listening to KZfaq videos at work (I work in a warehouse, that's how I'm able to listen to KZfaq videos during my shift), and I like them cause they're long, and the way you describe these matches that were happening, I'm able to like picture them, which I really like, and I also listen to your videos while grinding the fortnite battle pass as well 😂 or playing wwe 2k, and also the way you describe these matches honestly I feel like you could make a broom stick and a mop in a wrestling ring sound like a 5 star match, which is something I really enjoy, but yeah, keep up these bangers my dude ❤️👍 10/10 stuff right here

I always said 2011-2013 were my favorite years because that’s when I first started watching WWE but I think the stretch from 2014 to 2018 is my favorites. That time period had the most impact in my life and that was when I truly could get away from the world for a minute. They were special and influential in helping me grow up. There’s a lot of downs but the little moments here and there were monumental to a guy like me. Thanks for doing this!

@@SuperkickStudios this match in 2014 ruined my whole life everything changed my family was going through a divorce life was hard for me after 2014 things just got worse wrestling was never fun to watch anymore it wasn’t the same to me 2015 was my last year watching WWE. And things went downhill from their that’s why I never want to even look at this summerslam 2014 not cause cena lost it’s because just how bad of a decision it was cena should have definitely won that match Brock didn’t need the win at all when cena won summerslam 2010 and after that he went on a streak of not winning at summerslam which asinine fans forget how cena was injured and cheated so many times at summerslam and doesn’t get his win back in the main event .

This is an underrated all time classic SummerSlam PPV Brie vs Stephanie with nikki Bella turning heel on her sister Reigns vs Orton was a great match and made Roman Reigns a legitimate Star. Rollins vs Ambrose was one of the best Lumberjack matches of all time And of course the Death of Super Cena in that epic main event.🔥🔥

John cena was told to lost to Brock someone told cena that he had to get squashed which was dumb because Brock beat the streak I feel like this was the worst decision cena should have won here at summerslam 2014 cause he was the number 1 face of wwe not Brock. I enjoyed SummerSlam 2014, my favorite matches were Ambrose/Rollins & Cena/Lesnar P.S: the Cena/Lesnar match was the match i was looking forwatd to the most and i remember my then-girlfriend and little sister were left speechless after the Cena/Lesnar match endedd (they were rooting for Cena, i was rooting for Lesnar cause i wasn't a Cena fan back in 2014) what a night and what a show we got, not the best SummerSlam but it was very enjoyable

But I herd when cena was on the podcast with Sam when he stated he gave Brock that win to put him over cause he beat the streak and someone told him he had to lose and I was pissed when I herd that arn Anderson told cena to lose cause it will make Brock beating the streak mean less when that’s not at all true and I will forever hate arn Anderson for that dumb statement he told cena 🤦♂️. Also people forget cena was still main eventing after this match with team cena vs team authority and also when he beat Brock at night of champions 2014.

He didn’t beat Brock at Night of Champions……. Match got interrupted by Seth trying to cash in his contract the match was much closer than the Summerslam one though.

@@JayWIll2000sA DQ win doesn't really count as a victory. The point is, even though Brock didn't beat Cena at Night of Champions, he still came out of that match, the dominant WWE Champion. Cena would never get his win back against Brock, after the latter destroyed him at SummerSlam.
