Robert the new summit open shot is lighter, has a fold up seat sound deadning technology. Just some improvements. Thanks for the video.

I agree with you on the Summit Open Shot! I have used one for over 20 years and love it for bowhunting.

Great tips. I’ve found out all this stuff over the years thru trial and error. A new bow hunter would be wise to watch your videos.

A set of Thirdhand stabilizer straps is a good add on for stability and safety. I wouldn’t use a climber without them.

Climbers are my favorite, too, and those are some great tips to make them work better. Thanks for sharing this.

I bought the API Bowclimber 20 years ago. Took all the padding off and put a hazmore (netted) seat on. Light comfortable silent & fast. P.S. I like the Bunji Cord tip. 👍

I’ve used rope ratchets for years with climbers. Just push the button on them for silent operation, and secure it around the tree, to the base of the top and bottom pieces. The bungee cord works great too and is a little faster. I like that a lot.

I love my Summit. Last year I bought a saddle system to hunt trees not suitable for a climber but I prefer my climber whenever given the chance, and down here, that’s most places.

Used a summit viper 25 years. Just recently started using a lonewolf assault with sticks. Good stuff

Robert i know you said you were gonna hunt from the ground more now and get away from tree stands for safety. Are you still gonna use your climbing stand? I'm using a pacseat but got away from the lock on stand and sticks was thinking about buying a open shot. Thanks

I sold my openshot. I plan to hunt on the ground for all my mobile feed tree hunting on public land. I have a couple of small tracts of private I hunt and I plan to place a few ladder stands in the funnels I usually would have the loc ones in. I fell from a climber once when I was younger and stouter. I almost fell getting in a loc on last year. I feel safe using a ladder stand.

I used to carry a folding saw with me and my bow line was wrapped around a 1” dowel that’s been carved out in the center, the dowel about 4 “ long, I could get 30 to 35 feet of line on it, and I kept it in a cargo pocket of my camo pants.

I carry one on my climber usually in a pouch under the seat.

Simpler is Better hunt from the ground. Been very successful from the ground. Climbing trees is risky. Be careful and much success n fun this season.

I hunt from the ground often and I am slowly getting away from them. A deer from the ground is more rewarding for me.

Hey Robert. Can you make a video showing how you pack your lone wolf stand together? I have one with the 3.5’ sticks and have not found a good way to pack it

I use the bungee cords instead of the straps. I stack them up and strap them with 2 cords. Nothing fancy.
