Amazing and innovative tool, weird and alien. Precisely what I love! It would be an instant buy if it was a bit more accessible (this is subjective of course, the developer deserves to charge whatever they think is appropriate). Nevertheless, a stunning tool, the preset at 6:04 and the keys at 19:30 are really what sold the plugin for me.

is it running an FFT perpetually for each one of those partial voices since they're at different positions? I feel like that would be really CPU intensive. I would also think running FFTs ahead of time would require way too much space.

It's a different way of taking apart sound. You could think of granular as vertical slices in time, while this is horizontal slices in frequency following strong frequency components in the source. -Randy

@@madrona-labs Honestly just have a time demo of 30 days with no strings, let people save patches. Noise bursts and the like do more to turn people away than anything. Let me people explore the product. Let it sell itself. Sure there will be some tyre kickers who will use it for a few weeks and then not come back, but they were never going to buy it anyway. The easier you make it to explore and learn what it can do without annoyances the more likely you are to get a customer. I won't even bother demoing products with annoying demo periods. You lose more than you protect or gain.

@@madrona-labs Hi Randy, I am not talking from a lack of understanding from your side of the fence either, I used to work for a plugin company that sadly turned left when it should have turned right and is no longer with us , and we have in fact communicated before a long time ago when you furnished me with a nfr of your first plugin Aalto. Anywo I digress I figured when we were having internal discussions at said plugin company about what was best, that the easier the path to being a legitimate user you can make it, the more likely you are turn a demo into a sale. And yes timed demos will be an issue for some people, suddenly life gets busy and before they know it the 30 days is up. For them offer another 30 days, once again you will get the odd person who will take the piss. But again they were never going to buy it anyway. I always found crippled demos functionality wise OR noisy demos or ones that would bring up an endless nag screen were to me often just to frustrating to deal with. And would turn me against the product often despite any positives it may offer. I think we have to learn to trust our customer a bit more. And not to worry about those that are just on the take. They are never going to go away. And some of them do end up buying what they use. Not all by any stretch, but they do. Anywho, just pondering. Food for thought, maybe. Or just send to the bin. Delete as applicable. Regardless sounds great and best of luck!!

I'm on an older MacBook Pro with 16 GB of RAM and 2.7 Quadcore Processor. I fired this up in Ableton with no other plugins running and my CPU is showing anywhere between 85%-200%. It's not even close to being able to run in other words. This seems... wrong/off. Is it really this CPU heavy? I've not run into another plugin that is similar to what this is demanding. They said they beta tested it for 4 months already, otherwise I would think it's just glitchy pre-release stuff. Still, can't imagine there being any kind of market if you're selling to folks who only have the very top of the line machines.... I've been so stoked for this release and now I'm pretty bummed. Anyone else having the same issue?
@madrona-labs
@madrona-labs 22 күн бұрын
I discovered today that there is definitely a bug affecting performance. When I heard about people having issues with the beta I went back to my 2015 MacBook Pro. I used to be able to get 4 voices running fine on that machine but now I can't even run one voice without glitching. So something is borked. I'll try to fix ASAP, please hang in there. -Randy

Well I mostly use hardware synths, and can get many similar timbres with Vector Synth or the EaganMatrix and some nice stereo fx... I don't have a granular sampler... Wavestate is the closest. However, if I decide to upgrade the computer, and go more in that direction, this will be close to the top of my list. From what I hear, I'd usually want to use an analog sounding warm saturation effect after this instrument. That's a common sentiment I have in general, but it definitely applies here, too.
