Love the sun oven! It has a thermometer - not a thermostat. A thermometer only measures the temperature but a thermostat regulates the temperature.

I have seen the ALL AMerICAN SUN OVEN demonstrated at trade shows and it is a MUST HAVE, and top of my WANT LIST...Thank you for bringing this to others attention as a alternative to saving energy and money.

I received my All American Sun Oven (thank you so much for the 70.00 coupon!) and I was finally able to use it (cloudy the first week). I made Chicken Paprikash (it's like stewed chicken basically) on top and rice on the bottom. It came out perfect. It only took a little bit longer than usual when the sun was strongest. I had considered the other oven because of the 2 pots side by side but because of the temp limitations because of the plastic door, I went with the All American with the glass door. I'm glad I did. I also make cookies and they came out great. I lost track of time & they came out crunchier that normal but we just made ice cream sandwiches - perfect :). Thanks for showing the bread. I'm going to try that this weekend. Again, thanks so much for demonstrating this & for the discount coupon!

Great review. I bought a solarvar years ago and found it difficult to get food to cook thoroughly. From your video I can see the sun oven is a better choice.

I am very interested in getting this oven. I had a question though. My family always fixes 2 pizzas every Tuesday. I was trying to figure out if this rack could cook both of them at the same time in this? MULTI-LEVEL DEHYDRATING & BAKING RACK SET. This is from the solar oven website. I know this would be very useful for most of the things we can fix. I would love to cook up a huge pot of beef stew in this!

Hey Stacy, thanks for the info about turning the phone sideways when I make our videos. Anyway, I use my sun oven all the time. I am just not sure that I have it tilted correctly to capture the most of the suns rays. Is there a secret? I made sourdough bread today. Thanksgiving turkeys are so tender and juicy. How beneficial is the white sun indicator box that helps you line up the box to the sun help since the sun (or should I say earth) moves considerably even within an hour's time? Is it really all that helpful?

All American is out of the stackable enamel pots and I haven’t been able to find them anywhere else. Does anyone know where to find them? Also I haven’t been able to find the dimensions of the oven anywhere. Can someone pls post a reply and help me out? It would help me so much to feel good about purchasing the oven. Thank you!

I bought the solar oven. I have the other kind but is much more difficult to use. I have to remove the reflector and find a place to set it down then unhook the over in two to four places find a safe place to put it then take the lid off my pan to check on the foodthen do the reverse to continue cooking this looks so much more convenient. Oh man I just found your channel and I'm looking at these comments for the $70 off and I see that they're from 3 years ago! Oh bummer. You snooze you lose I guess. I have always wanted to get a son oven because I like to save energy and not heat up the house in the summer. And I live in the Sierra Nevada Foothills in California so we certainly get a lot of heat in the summer! Thank you so much for explaining these solar ovens I definitely have put it on my list of things to get soon. It's always been on my list but it's closer to the top than ever!

When you dehydrate food in the sun oven, does it take more than 1 day? If so, How do you keep the food from spoiling overnight, waiting for the sun to come back up? In electric dehydrators, you may have to dehydrate food for 2 or 3 days. How can you do that in a sun oven?

Round TWO - Tip for you - set up a little folding table next to the sun oven with your hot pads and utensils. Then you don’t have to put pans on the ground.

I love that it has almost no plastic! Not only from the standpoint of durability because heating plastic causes leeching! YUCK! And All-American made is how I prefer it, when I can get it :)
