I saw Sun Ra in Berkeley in the late 70's. He did this rap that went something like '"as long as you tell yourself the truth if you win you win and if you loose you still win!" There was a young black guy playing an eight foot long cunga drum, standing on a chair, and for some reason, seeing me in the audience digging the haps he motioned to me, a white kid, to get up on stage with Sun Ra and a whole band of intense visionary musicians and play that drum! I was too shy and I have always regretted not doing it!

+Fred G Could there be anything to that? Isotopes are atoms with the same weight but different densities. How to shift from one atomic density to another? Hmmm . . .Of course if isotopic transportation doesn't work I cold use transeliquilation, which is maybe how he got there.

I first heard these words from this scene as a capella in a trance music track, decided to look up the words in google, saw that this movie referenced, and finally put a name behind the words, Sun Ra. Looked him up in google and discovered a plethora of music I had not heard before. Amazing how accidental discoveries like this can lead to a discovery of art and music both of which are inspirational and ingenious in their design and above all else, timeless. R.I.P. Sun Ra and thank you for sharing your artistic ingenuity with the world.

True art Integrity as well. He did what he felt right because he felt compelled to make it. I don't sense or feel any compromise in Sun Ra music. It is in and of it's own; for the sake of making unique music.

There will never be another like Sun Ra. I try to spread his Gospel, by sneaking on his music when people visit, or at parties and such... Without exception, someone always comes up to me and asks what this insanely awesome music is... He's on a better planet than us now. Great upload, thanks.

Also on the back of the elliocentric(1) world of Sun Ra album, there are some highly sophisticated drawings of the orbirts of all the planet in our solar system. And when you compare the two, (book and Sun Ra cover) the drawing are representative of the the law that RA talks in the book. Now thats weird. If you wanna know more on the subject. Listen to Nassim Haramein- rogue valley metaphysical library(2003). It WILL CHANGE your Life ! Promise Love to All ! :)

@ppc1989ark Very nice Sir. It looks like by what you are saying, is that he wanted to introduce people to different spiritual concepts, and to do that he created his own fantastical background story. It looks like he had some very unique influences as a child such as spending time at a masonic lodge reading their literature. You must have seen my comments on a couple Ram Dass videos lol...I just started reading 'Be Here Now' and decided to look him up.

the jist is, he was a sensitive loving artistic soul, and the mythology he created was his way of dealing with the legacy of slavery and present day racism, he willed a creative response to the situation which he likely hoped would give oppressed people a new narrative counter to those of their oppressors, an attempt to de-colonise the mind
