However that assumed consent can be rescinded by the buildings owner, tenant, agent or representative, The security guard has designated authority to demand you leave. At that point you are trespassing which is a civil offence. However, if your trespass is such that you are creating a obstacle,disrupting business, this becomes aggravated trespass and you may be arrested. There is no public space within a private building. iF that were so, you would be able to walk into Downing Street and commence recording. (Despite the fact you believe you pay for Downing Street) and all other government buildings..ACcording to your interpretation all taxpayers can enter any other persons home if the tenant is receiving housing benefit as you ‘pay for housing benifit via income tax . While talking to the member of public,you were educated and explained by the member of public that the building was privately financed so is in fact a private building.The staff were mistaken in engaging in a conversation with you regarding your ‘ right to film’. They should have immediately asked you to leave. When you refused and the police arrived they should have asked the police to consider aggravated trespass and your behaviour was obstructive to the business. You can give a false name instead to play their game and not put any bumps in the conversation. It's only when under arrest that you must give your real name. The key thing to get is the CAD number. This can reference the call that brought the police and can be used in the complaint as evidence.
