This 8"sub has more excursion than some other brands 15" or 18" subs.

i just got mine today and its a LITTLE MONSTER the poor fed ex girl come walking up to my house carrying this small box and you could tell she was struggling,i said set it down hun,so i picked it up and damn near blew a disc out in my back,its gorgeous looking,same motors that are on my two SA 12's in my WRX hatch,this little monster is going in my truck that I've had for 17 yrs,its got custom kick panels with awesome imaging so its going to sound amazing when I'm done.ported,or T line not sure yet.have to take measurements.SUN DOWN RULES !!!!

I just bought this sub with your sae600d amp. I have that sub at 1 ohms in a custom made ported box tuned for 35hz. that little sub is a beast in my 13 Mazdaspeed 3. lol most people don't believe me when I tell them it's a 8 inch sub. lol So I show them the sub and they are like, that little thing makes that much bass. lol I would love too see you guys Dyno the sae600d at 1 ohms. I know you guys did it at 0.5 ohms.

Looks awesome, i have limited space under the seat in my 5th gen ram 1500 crew. I was thinking either doing 2 beefy 8s like the x8 v4s or 2 DD 2508Gs or would 3 Sundown Sa v3 8s outperform any of those 2 8 setups? I have around 2.3cu maybe 2.4cu net to work with so with 3 they would see little more then .75cu net per and the 2 8s would see about 1.1cu net per. Im jus trying to get the most output possible. Thanks

I have no clue why any other sub woofer company even try to make woofers....you just can't get better than sundown....my old kicker L7 12" doesn't come close to my sundown e12 and on less power....hits hard,clean,accurate....kudos guys...

These aren't recommended for sealed enclosures. For that you'd want to get the SD.

What do you think about just ONE of these bad boys in a Toyota Corolla? (Ported T-line box, high quality amp) Will it be enough?

Depends what 'enough' actually means. For 90% of people, a single X-8v2 on 1k is enough to blend well with their front stage. Remember that they're $245. I installed a pair of Massive Audio Hippo 8's into a car a few weeks ago. 1.5ft3 net @ 36hz on a reburb Sundown SCV-1500d(db-r) and they are hands down, the loudest pair of 8's I've heard personally.

My only issue with my sa8 v3's is that the motor isn't that much smaller in diameter than the basket. I had a bitch of a time getting the subs and wires to fit through the mounting holes without pulling the wires out of the terminals.

I'm pretty sure I bottomed my SA-8 out. How could I even do this as I'm only putting 456.5 watts to it? (Dyno test my amp, it's pushing 450watts at 13.5v) it didn't sound like this one though. It just sounded like a puff. The cone was barely as warm as my previous setup (which lasted 2 years) my SA-8 V.3 is in a T-line at 31Hz. Did I damage it? It sounded like bottoming out but not as violent as this. It happened twice in one song so I backed off. Sub still is sounding fine.

Sealed is .3-.5 cubes ported is .5-.75 cubes.

oh and can't tell you guys enough BRACE BRACE BRACE your enclosures for sun down subs my 12's were backing the screws out,i had to brace it better.

Better then screws, I drill holes and use push in (they go in through the back) nut certs. Then I Bolt the subwoofer in using locking washers and flat washers to prevent them from coming loose around the sub. The Box I glue and then re-glue then Epoxy the joints all together. Of course proper bracing is a must too.

tacomabanga1986 it is happy in a .5 cu/ft to 1 cu/ft box sealed or vented, just have the gains and crossovers set on the the amp and magic things happen, my buddy had two Rockford Fosgate P1 12s, sold them and bought the v.2 sa-8, and it performed better than the RFs, but gains were not set properly torched the coil, threw it out, and now has 4 RF P2 8s

i have a memphis pr1000 and 2 batteries so electrical is ok, i have a kicker L5 12 now wired to 1ohm and i think my amp is a little much for it, its in about 2cf box sealed and does ok but i think i like the other box it came with better i want something that doesn't take up much space and still hits lows pretty good, its going behind the seat of a 99tacoma, i really dont want to try and fit my 18" fi q in there and i dont think it will like sealed box verry well

space saving is what the sa8 does with decent low freq. response. the time i had listened to it on a kenwood excelon 500.1. was amazing but got torched because of improperly set gains and crossovers on the amp
