I just love the way they speak to Sam and Mikalya. So respectful and nice like grown adults teaching young children and explaining every detail to them without any annoyance in their tones

Not gonna lie, this still hits. Seeing Optimus on the big screen is delightful.

I remember him saying the words "I am Optimus Prime" and the entire theater cheering. Say what you want about the transformers franchise, but seeing these characters in live action was amazing to me as a child.

We may dislike Bay's films now, but odds r when we saw this transformation and Optimus speaking for the first time, everyone was freaking out at how awesome it was

I'm younger than most here. I was 4 (going on 5) when I first saw this movie in '07. This and Animated were my first introductions to Transformers. I hold this movie and Spider-Man 3 close to my heart, as they were two of the first movies I have memories of seeing in theaters, even if my opinions regarding them have shifted as I got older.

Its one of those movie scenes where grown men are not ashamed to admit that they cried tears of joy. And why should they be ashamed? You're watching a hero that young boys looked up to come to life on the big screen and being voiced by the original voice-actor, Peter Cullen. Its like meeting an old friend once again after so long.

I remember seeing this in theaters and the crowd absolutely gasping in shock, then applauding when Peter Cullens voice echoed across the room. He is the G.O.A.T of voice actors imho.

For 2007, this is amazing and way ahead of its time.

2:06 “His vocal processors were damaged in battle.” In Bumblebee it was completely retconned because that movie went from a prequel to the 2007 film to a soft reboot of sorts. In the reboot Blitzwing was the one who damaged Bee’s voice box while fighting him on Earth instead of Cybertron as it was implied in this scene, why did they make the change? They kinda wanted to remove certain connections from the first movie and start anew, they only kept good aspects from the 2007 film like for example. 1. Sector 7 and that includes John Turturro’s character Agent Simmons who is shown as a young man in the 80’s 2. Bumblebee’s Camero form that he receives in the ending. 3. Using the radio to communicate. And that’s pretty much it but the biggest change is of course Optimus Prime arrives on Earth in the 80’s instead of 2007 like in the first movie, they really want to scrub off the past films cause The Last Knight really damaged the brand, and honestly it bombed at the box office and pissed off Hasbro. I’m honestly glad that they kept some aspects from the first movie while not adding the bad ones in Bumblebee, let’s hope it’s like that in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

I was 37 when this first came out and remember seeing this scene the first time in the theater. Toys of my youth in a live-action setting done well. While I doubt it'll ever be considered one of the best movies ever made, it was a darn fun movie to watch, especially this scene right here. The soundtrack added quite a bit to it as well.

The nostalgia... with I can go back in time when this came out to experience it in theaters again

I consider this a piece of timeless cinematic history that will always be remembered

Fun fact is that Optimus’s character model was such a huge file it has to stored on several different hard drives. When this movie came out it was one of the biggest technical marvels of all time. Because of how well the studio was able to create moving/shifting metal is what gave Marvel the gusto to make an Ironman movie because before this metal was super hard to CGI

This by far one of, if not, the best CGI in film history.

This is still one of the coolest movies I've ever seen.
