To everyone who's studying with this music: Checklist: • A bottle of water, at least 1liter. Your brain works better if it has enough water and drinking helps you to concentrate💧 • Your charger. You sometimes don't even notice that your device's battery is going down, so better have it plugged in all the time🔋 • Your headphones. You will be able to focus more with headphones, because it blocks background noises. Also, if it's a late night study session, you won't wake up anyone🎧 • a tea or coffee. Someone who I really care about left me earlier this year, and often I’m still sad. But this video, this music, it kinda sounds the way I feel. I love being in the mountains and forests and rock climbing and just enjoying nature. And this, it just sounds like that feeling of hope you have when you can be sad, but happy at the same time. My heart hurts, but it also smiles. I think it feels like I’m slowly approaching peace.

There is just something so wonderful about this particular compilation that I keep coming back to years later. All of Ithyä’s Journey is fascinating to me in a weird, wonderful way but this one I gravitate to when I'm stuck working late for work. There's this simple melancholy watching the sunrise alone that slowly fades to daybreak and everything about Pilgrim reminds me to just slow down for a tick and appreciate the now. Thank you so much for making this - I don't think I ever stopped and realized how often its the backdrop to a long night.

She’d practiced the state of emptiness before. It was required to master some of the more complex incantations, to let the living magic take its form in the mold of her inner thoughts-her true intent, as her master cryptically called it. But even when it had worked, the meditating, the bark chewing and incense burning, it always felt to her like she was just holding something at bay; pushing against pressure that was always there, but that she only noticed when she looked for it. It was hard. And that she couldn’t find another word for the feeling made her all the more jealous of the moments that she had, where the sun rose and the pressure within her was overwhelmed by another. Awe seemed too simple an expression, worse than the word hard was to describe her struggle with emptiness. But, looking down, she realized her drink was cold, her cooking fire was out, and an hour had gone by without more than an instant passing in her mind. Awe was all she could say that feeling was that washed out her inner pressure with waves of another all consuming sense. Strangely, it seemed her master was right, despite all his grumpy cynicism. “When the pressure of the world collapses you, who you really are both stops mattering and, at the same time, comes to be.” If only she could stop it from dying again, each day, and each time the sun slipped away.

This music is so perfect for the scene! There's a special canyon called Decker Canyon in Malibu, California. It doesn't quite look like the drawing here, but the music totally captures the setting in Decker Canyon (as well as this picture)! Decker is very mystical, especially on late winter/spring mornings when a fog starts lifting and the fields are green underneath.

It's those hours of the morning. The quiet, peaceful ones. The lonesome hours where you're left with your own thoughts, thinking about distant places you'll be traveling to, strange people you'll meet, and mystical creatures you'll find. The hours where no one is there to bother you, speak to you, or interrupt you and your daydreaming. And in those hours, Ithya found themselves doing exactly that. Daydreaming about the rest of their adventure, about the breathtaking views they would see, about the incredible moments they would have. For even though it seemed as though the world stood still, they still had a long way to go, and a lot to do. And they couldn't wait. Just me pouring out my creativity before getting back to work. Currently making a roguelike where you are my pfp, it's a bunch of randomly generated rooms where you can collect gold and get health potions and kill enemy's. the enemy's dash at you to kill if they hit you they do 2 of your 5 hearts. you can hit stab them but since it's 8x8 pixel art the stabbing won't look all that good I'm gonna one of the best gamedevs ever when I grow up.

Haven't done a deep dive into the Instagram yet, but I notice two things about Ithya's weapon: 1.) She seems to prefer to keep it very close or in her hand as much as possible, even when she doesn't need it as a walking stick. This implies that the region isn't entirely safe to travel in. 2.) It appears to be made entirely of well-worked hardwood, with no metal. This could still be a very effective weapon: a bokken or 19th-century war club can be as lethal as a sword in the right hands. And if the edge is, in fact bronze, it's better than you might think. Look it up: bronze is not always inferior to iron, or even steel!

One of the artists, "Some Were at Sea" is apparantly South African, as I am so it makes me happy that there are some South African ambience artists out there and here.

Like a year ago I played a lot of this one indie game called Spiritfarer and it is extremely calming. The music in this video just reminds me of that game. Ferrying souls from the living to the dead, making sure that you fulfill their last requests so that you can send them off. It is comforting. Like the warmest hug.

I've been bouncing around chill/instrumental/ambient playlists for a while now I really enjoy these ones though. I like the theming of each playlist and the artwork and story that accompanies them. The world stilled in peaceful anticipation of its' arrival. The clouds drifted apart to make way for the bright new actor's appearance on the stage. The wind slowed, the birds went silent. The warrior, sitting atop a hill overlooking the valley, breathed in. The woman clad in a red cloak, soaked in the feeling of warmth and joy as the sun's first rays hit her. Sighing, she set aside her scythe and brought the steaming mug up to her lips, the aroma filled her sense. Whatever lay behind her, or ahead, this moment would sustain her. As the sun began its' journey across the sky the birds resumed their calls. The wind rushed excitedly through the trees. The warrior breathed in and stood. She slowly began to put away her tent, food, and other belongings. She would have a long journey today but with any luck, this would be her last day of travel.
