I like Tazer. I actually think I like the unapologetic level of demon time they allowed both him and Krazy to be on. Because sometimes you just need to release your rage. I'm also interested to see how Tazer evolves since he learns his Mom didn't abandon him.

Great breakdown review!!! I loved it, and have been waiting years for a show like this. I had no Idea Lamar from BMF was played by a British actor? I agree my only issue is that is was too short, but that is a good thing, because the potential is there.

Glad to see some Americans reviewing this. This is a really good show, but I really want it to take off. Has flavors of The Wire, Black Lightning, heroes and Luke cage. British shows can be notoriously short. I think if the community embraces this, it will do well.
@DW-py4up
@DW-py4up Ай бұрын
Why are you glad to see Americans reviewing it? Is that the benchmark by which we measure what’s good/great? “Taking off” doesn’t necessarily mean being accepted by American audiences, the world isn’t America

@@mysweetperspective No disrespect to you but he/she specified “Americans” I doubt he/she would’ve made a similar comment on a Dutch persons video. There’s still a small amount of people here who seem to seek validation from black Americans and it’s annoying. Our music, shows and culture only got as big as it is now when we stopped seeking validation and done our thing….. Also why do so many Americans think there’s no guns here? Firstly they’re not illegal they’re heavily regulated (as they should be) but even if they were illegal, that would be like me thinking there’s no crack/cocaine in America cos it’s illegal 🤷🏾‍♂️
@mysweetperspective
@mysweetperspective Ай бұрын
@DW-py4up I don’t believe there are “no guns” but from what I’ve heard and seen they are harder to get 🤷🏽‍♀️
@doro626
@doro626 Ай бұрын
@@DW-py4up I read both your comments so I will address both here. Ashley sound American. I AM AMERICAN and she is the only American I have seen covering this show on KZfaq. Even their interviews are the UK versions of outlets like Vogue. No one cares about validation. Validation comes from within. Whatever PERSONAL issue you have with Europe vs. America's African Diaspora's culture is your own. FACTS. Facts are that the US is the largest entertainment market next to China. British actors and directors in interviews have said they started making more money and getting more exposure (to get hired on more projects) when large wide spread American audiences started becoming fans. I'm sure Rapman would like to get paid, but if not and he wants to make it "our own thing" because he is not seeking "validation" as you say, instead of being a story teller that wants his work to get to the largest audience possible, then good on him. Money is what makes the world go around and if you can make millions in your home town, but if you know you can make billions one town over, why would you cut off your nose to spite your face? MONEY! I know he is Canadian, but didnt Drake save Top Boy from cancellation? Rapman said he has a story for three seasons planned and I want to see him get his seasons. Get his MONEY! China is the only entertainment as large as the US and they ae racist as hell . Historically these types of shows and movies do poor there. They even REMOVED Chadwick Bozeman's face off the Black panther poster in China. Dutch market? What money is the DUTCH market adding to people blowing up? I don't know where the gun comment came from ( maybe the video, idk that was three days ago for me) . I've been watching the occasional British show since the 1980's ( Monty Pythons flying circus, Doctor Who, Blakes Seven, Red Dwarf in the 90's along with Black adder, Britas Empire ) but when netflix started carrying shows like Wire in the Blood, I looked up Gun laws there back then in the early 2000's. According to the Firearms Act Both of Craze guns were ILLEGAL.

Decided to check it out last night and binged. I enjoyed. Agree it was too short and I couldn’t stand the character for beating that girl (blaming her for the outcome he invited). The show put me in the mind of Heroes, think it aired on NBC. Also a sprinkle of a more well developed and serious, They Cloned Tyron, esp. with the underground opps and ties to the community. Hope they come back!

It’s interesting that fashion over in Europe that is considered cool is American hip hop fashion from like the early 2000s. It’s always behind. The ‘gangs’ with their American bandannas and crips and blood imagery, wearing baggy American sportswear, is not even how gangs dress or behave anymore. It’s like a flash back in time watching.
