Agreed. He’s literally Buu reincarnated meaning he should be at least SSJ3 level but even higher since he trained with Goku for years including in the HTC. Would’ve been good to see him put up a fight with Android 17 until Goku came.

He could’ve been on of my favorite villains if the writers had actually showed the internal struggle between both 17’s throughout the fight. Only instance is when he fights 18 and when he dies.

Exactly my issues with GT too lol some of the villains, SSJ4 and overall stories of the arcs were all really good. Goku being a kid really ruins parts of it for me but I guess that’s why they made SSJ4 turn Goku back into an adult.

Super 17 looked like such a psycho. He looked like a SS4 level villain. However, THIS saga was preposterous. How does Majuub, who is practically almost as strong as SS4 can’t budge him, but Kid Goku at Super Saiyan can? Ridiculous!😅

Dude had great potential and was indeed very powerful. But he suffered from lackluster writing for his arc, probably some of the worst of the series. Not to mention it felt like he was only around as long as like third form Frieza was.

I do think it would have played out differently if Goku didn’t keep feeding him blast the whole time. Ngl I hated this fight in GT just because how dumb Goku was being in SSJ4 he literally went and pulled a Vegeta onky shooting Ki Blast. I think he wins in a fist fight if he didn’t just try blasting him and feeding him energy the entire fight.

He could but Goku was too far above Vegeta for the Fusion Dance method to work and I think height would have been Goku's problem without SSJ4. Vegito would have dropped him too but they didn't have the Potara Earrings.

Lmao I never considered the height problem. Goku can literally only become the right size to fuse by going SS4, which makes him too powerful to fuse with Vegeta. The only solution is for Vegeta to wish himself into being a kid and then they fuse at SS2 and then go up to 3 or 4 once they’re Kid Gogeta.

If the episode hadn't been written like everyone had amnesia, things might have been different. They've dealt with energy absorbing foes in the past and it doesnt make sense that they wouldnt have realized it until it's too late. Then even after goku realizes it he goes ahead and hits him with a ssj4 kamehameha anyway. I think it's reasonable to assume that ssj4 goku could have pummeled him to death if he hadn't super charged him with all those blasts.

Base goku punched a hole through 17 while goku in super sayan 4 didn't even scratch him when given the same opportunity. Power scaling in gt makes absolutely no sense

He didn't just punch a hole through him, he used the Dragon Fist attack, he concentrated a lot of energy into it. Different attacks calculates Ki differently, they have its own kind of power level.

Well they explain while 17’s absorption barrier is up, he is completely leaving himself defenseless to physical attacks. Only reason goku could do it was because 18 was there to keep his barrier up. Ontop of that, apparently, the good 17 was constantly fighting his evil half and was the one who prevented him from putting the barrier down.

He had to get Super 17 distracted with absorbing energy first. Once he does that he is vulnerable to physical attack, and the Dragon Fist is the ultimate physical attack.

Tbh The best android to play as in DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was Super 17 His abilities dealt heavy damage,plus he had an energy steal ability and especially his ultimate that was similar to the spirit bomb except it was black and red He was a solid fighter in that game

It would have been more better if they made the story longer. Imagine nerfing Majuub rightaway lol. Also it would have been interesting if they made Gohan tapped into his Potential Unleashed state again vs Super 17. There were a lot of possible great fights to be honest. Like Adult Gotenks showing up again or like how it went in DBH Galaxy Mission where Vegeta went SSJ3 against Super 17. Unfortunately I feel like the whole GT just revolves around Goku with the others being nerfed too hard to be useful.

I've had super 17's action figure from Christmas about 24 years ago. I never saw an episode with him. EVER. GT also confused me because no one explained how Goku became a kid. It kinda felt like a marketing ploy for parents suckering up to their kids. I still have the toy. I keep it only because it reminds me of my family. I actually left it at my grandmother's house and every year for Christmas it was hidden in the same spot I hid it as a kid.

The best part of super 17 was he wasn’t unbeatable and broken from the start, he was another android 17 but he has energy absorption, then fused with our 17, and continued to absorb every ki blast thrown at him
