Great lesson. I coached high school tennis for 25 years and this is exactly the type of tactics we drilled on in practice. I noticed that like myself some of my players were multi sport athletes and learned so of these skills and tactics in other sports. Moving forward to pressure opponents at the net and take advantage is something you learned in basketball or hockey. Also using a double team to set up an attack could be a carry over from hockey, basketball, volleyball. If you want to win you got to move in. One of my slogans.

Good video. I think it doesn't matter what the RP was intending on doing. The S made a show boat behind the back half volley that sat up over the net. He should have done a normal half volley with some slice to keep it low. RP could have been anywhere around the net and smashed that. Typically good doubles players know how to pick the ball of the ground without floating the ball up at the net for the other side to crush. RP was a hot dog that could have gotten his partner plastered in the nuts with that dumb play. Sorry but I think this is another reason why college players typically don't make it to the pro level.

True, but the fact that the RP was planning to poach and was completely ready for it made it an easy put away. Definitely a horrible return by the S! :)
