Lol, reminds me of another youtuber named Wowcrendor--hes a good guy and all, but it was really funny when Hearthstone first came out, he got into a serious stint where would buy like 50 decks of cards at a time. He filmed each opening session, and about the 4th or 5th one in (I think) one of them was finally titled "I can't stop!' lol Now on its surface that does sound Super horrifying, the more I think of it, but to be fair I think he even still does some Hearthstone videos today, and has crazy decks of all-golden cards and stuff. I think he got past the main bulk of buying so many.

They speared Pat good into giving them $260 dollars as of this post. He is exactly the kind of people they had in mind when they designed the loot crate system. Word has it Blizzard has already made half a billion off of Overwatch this year. Blizzard basically won 2016 as far as gaming goes.

We'll see here's the thing; they're just cosmetics. They don't affect gameplay at all, and the only reason you'd HAVE to pay for the chance to get them is if you really REALLY want to. It'd be really bad if they hid whole characters in loot boxes and made you pay for the chance to get those, but since they're cosmetics it's fine. You can go without them and nothing changes about your gameplay experience, and you still have a chance to get them for free too.

Graphics are a third of the game. The whole "It's just cosmetic" argument is bullshit. If you see someone with a really cool skin, you can either grind and grind and grind for a chance to do it OR you can fall for the games trick of "Hey, you can just buy some boxes for a chance of getting what you want". And instead of having boxes for cosmetics, sprays, poses, etc., they lump every unlockable item into one pool, making it even more unlikely to get what you want. AND instead of taking things you already have out of the pool, they just leave it in and give you a handful of gold if you get a duplicate. The whole system is designed to entice players into getting the "good" skins and abuse their wallets.

+Sam Rader but what I'm saying is it doesn't change anything about the actual game. The Best Friends'; logic here is such, you don't NEED it, therefore it is comparatively more acceptable than a pay to win scenario. Besides that, why argue that graphics matter when you get the skin and you don't see most of it anyway since the game is in first person? Now, I'm not encouraging this behavior. Far from it. I'm not saying 'just buy the boxes bitch', because I will agree on one issue, they're pretty expensive. I'm not saying that grinding for even a chance to get them isn't frustrating or the result of manipulation on the game developer's part, but in the end, they're getting you to play their game, aren't they? Overwatch is a multiplayer game, so it's not meant for picking it up, playing it for a few days and dropping it. It's to be supported for a long time to come, and honestly, they gotta do something to get money so they can keep giving that content. And before you say that future content is just gonna be more stuff locked behind loot boxes, I point you to Ana, a new character who was free for everybody.
