Fabulous update….looks brilliant and from the detail shown is clearly a very challenging / satisfying build. With regards to the fine wire running round the top of the railings have you considered individual stranded copper wire (when stranded flex is stripped) as there is a multitude of different sizes when wires are stripped back….🤔 Normal cable flex, old phone charger to name but two. The other option could possibly be the really very fine elasticated rigging (not sure of the brand) the type used on model aircraft etc. Enjoying very much your build and even more the explanations you give along the way….Oh and that gun shield looks fab. Haven’t started mine yet due to other things on the bench at present but your documentation of the build will, when I do start be invaluable and very much appreciated. Thanks again Best Gary

That curved wire piece for the front of the gun platform is to keep the gun from depressing enough to shoot into the fo'c'sle. The plastic piece should be in the kit and would make the perfect template.

Another great video. I wonder if the shell and holders could be 3d printed as one piece. I remember some brass parts from aircraft modelling that would break easily. Sometimes, heating with a gas lighter would help with a light score with a blade on the opposite side. Didn't always work, though. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress. All the best.

I did think I might 3D print them as I have that facility however I think the two brass parts mounted on the styrene strip and carrying the shell will suffice. I agree that annealing the parts often works however, in this case, I think GLS got it wrong and could have made each cradle from one piece that folded up rather than three pieces.

I think your idea is the best solution for it . There are so many small, frustrating parts . Thank you for your response. All the best.
