Make more money and outsell the competition! Rachel and Hard Working Man work together using the sawdust byproduct from the new Balfour Samurai Buzz Saw to make organic fire starters! We were able to get close to 800 degrees and an over 25 minute burn time. This batch of starters was made from all high btu black locust sawdust and organic soy wax to produce a premium product! They will be included with all future HWM firewood sales.

Helpful Hint: Melt a sufficient amount of Vaseline (aka Petroleum Jelly) and pour just a bit (about 1/4 tsp) on top. Great for ease of igniting with only Ferro Rod and Striker. Eliminates flame starter!

I make these for camping, I will put a ½ cotton ball, that has been rubbed in Vaseline, on top of the sawdust before pouring the wax on top. Once I get all my cups full, I'll put the whole tray in the oven at °170 for about 10 minutes. That will let the wax permeate everything and then let the excess run out on the tray. Then, while they are still hot, I take the cups, put them on a cooling tray, and then recover the excess wax.

think about adding liquid paraffin oil or fire gel to the wax, this adds a very good component to the firelighter that allows them to burn better.

Organic Wax.. WTF? You're burning it not eating it.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors
@hardworkingmanoutdoors 5 ай бұрын
We use it for a few reasons. One we use it to start charcoal grills and smokers for cooking. Two for marketing, people love organic stuff and I’ve had several people say they buy wood from me because I offer free organic fire starters. Also because it was available on Amazon at a good price and met my needs.
