Peach, saddened by Luigi's capture, goes along to rescue Luigi. She brings the toads along, since she didn't want to leave them behind. Mario, feeling guilty about his brother's capture, confesses to Peach that it was him who caused it all. At first, Peach is mad, but she kindly forgives him. Mario clears up the misunderstanding and realizes that she and Luigi were only friends. So, Mario comes along. Along the way, Mario stops, and shows Peach and the toads the leaves he encountered when Mario rescued Peach. He gives three to them, and they try them on. 3:18 At first, Peach and the toads are uncomfortable in that outfit. They're like "What is this?" So, when they realize they whack their tails, they're like, "Cool!" Day after day, Mario shows them all the worlds that he encountered, untill they reach Bowser's castle. Bowser says to Mario, "Dude, I thought we had a treaty." Mario says, "I know, but that was a mistake. I never understood that they were only friends." Mario apologizes to Luigi upon encountering and Luigi says, "Mario, I know you thought I was stealing Peach, but we are just friends." And Luigi forgives him, after rescuing, and gives his brother a hug. Luigi says he met a girl upon his capture, named Daisy, and he proposes to her. Luigi and Daisy are now happily married, while Mario marries Peach and becomes King of the Mushroom Kingdom. Oh, and their first act, was to behead that Bowser! And they live happily ever after. The End!

Looks like peach was attempting to escape and nearly succeeded but bowser overwhelmed her with his minions. I have a feeling she's definitely strong enough to make escape attempts through every game but this is the first time we actually see her do it, the cage is probably where bowser puts her when she's so close to a successful escape.
