Welcome to the trailer video of my first Super Mario Galaxy 2 hack: Cosmos Collapse! I have been working on this for the past 8 months and I am really excited to finally get it out!
What does this hack have to offer?
Cosmos Collapse provides a unique and challenging aspect to Super Mario Galaxy 2. All of the 105 missions featured in this hack have been transformed into a brand new adventure. The main focus lies on collecting items (coins, star chips, silver stars), messing with gravity, a whole bunch of custom music and completely new bits of gameplay, all of this being packed into a sinister black hole theme.

Some of these levels have the best changes to galaxies that I have ever seen. All of the ideas look super creative! If this is just the trailer then the full game will be amazing! :D

Download links are back up again! The hack should be fine now. I made a small update to the patch, fixing another potential Lava Lair crash and two other small bugs. However, I do recommend downloading the newest version (v1.03) because I did a few other small changes as well that didn't get included in the patch. If you don't want to download the full hack again, it is also fine since you can still get away with the patch. Thank you guys for waiting, and have fun!

@@marioandroddyst.jamesadven8837 GLE is not featured in this hack. You only need the Project Template. If you are playing on console, you don't have to worry since the template has been built into the xml. If you are playing on Dolphin, you need to do some manual steps to activate it (further instructions are in the download)

The black holes in the galaxy games have always freaked me out. I will say that this mod using them as actual obstacles and not just "You fall off the stage and die in one" is very creative. Doesn't make them any less freaky.

I finally beat this mod last month, and I just wanted to say that while I went through the pain and tears of trying to beat the comets and world 7 levels, overall, I really loved this mod and its by far my favourite of all the galaxy mods I've played so far. Only thing I don't like on the mod is the black holes because I have a fear of them being huge or close up on screen. Other than that, mod looks nice even tho it hard.

From what I've seen from some youtubers like Jhay, this mod/romhack seems really awesome, but also one that's not for the average casual player. It tests you on various movement techs that require a good bit of learning, and some calls in the level are pretty hard to make, for instance the range of some black holes. Other than that, this hack looks awesome!

Hi, i can't install it... it's the 1.03D version, and when I open the 'builder.bat', it says it builds the mod but it continues forever! Does it really need more than 6 hours to build the modded file or am I doing something wrong? (I'm following 'how to play' file)

Having a bit of trouble installing this mod. Followed the instructions but I got stuck when it said ".iso found, copying files over and this will will take a while" Well, I waited 10 hours, but nothing changed. Not sure if there's a progress bar or something else is supposed to happen. If others are experiencing this issue or know how to fix it, I'd love to know :)

@Rinusoide I got the mod working but there's a glitch in the Yoshi Galaxy star "Wrestling on the Windmill". For some reason the windmill platforms which lead to the top of the windmill don't load and thus the star is unattainable.

I can't build the ISO, it stucks in building but my pc doesn't heat or something so I doubt it is building it.

Does the Dolphin method have to be that certain way? I have done 2 other methods but both result in things not appearing(such as windmills in honeyhop) and coin collecting not working(such as the 2nd star from cosmic cove or the comet medal in rolling coaster.

I'm using the dolphin version of the hack, but when I try to build the mod from the sgm2 iso file I converted from a wbfs file, it never finishes. I even left it on overnight but it still didn't finish. I'm not sure if it's working for me. Do you have any ideas of what I'm doing wrong or does it normally take over 10 hours to build(prob not)?

Hey, I've seen to have run into a kind of softlock in Honeyhop Galaxy. I searched for the fifth launch star piece for a long time, didnt seem to find it. I looked up some playthroughs and it seems, that in their version, those windmill platforms appeared in the bonus room, taking them to the launch star piece. Those arent there in my version (Riivolution 1.03). Any idea what happened? Edit I found the problem: If anyone else runs the Riivolution version over dolphin, you still have to install the SMG2 project template mentioned in the dolphin versions how to play file, or else custom objects might not load

There is a problem in the 1.3 version for dolphin: in every world, the windmil fans are missing, and i tried everything. everithing else works fine, but this makes some stars impossible

I think what impresses me the most has to be the ice Mario power-up considering that the only other time I ever saw ice Mario in super Mario Galaxy 2 was brkirch's unreleased, unfinished power up cycling gecko code from over 12 years ago

Ice Flower has been in Galaxy 2 for a while now, it's far from new anymore and is a pretty common thing in Galaxy 2 modding at this point, it's been much more achieved at this point than whatever that gecko code from 12 years ago was. Neo Mario Galaxy is one great hack for Galaxy 2 that also uses the ice flower pretty substantially if you wanna check that out, would highly recommend giving it a play.

Is anyone having trouble getting the iso builder to work on PC? I've been trying to get the iso to build properly but it just gets stuck on the prompt that says "building iso...this might take a while" for up to 10 hours(longest I've tried) without doing anything. It would be good to know which SMG2 .iso needs to be patched(MD5 checksum, version/locale, etc..). That, or the builder.bat needs error logging of some kind. Is there anyone else having this problem?

I have tried setting the Cosmos Collapse working directory and all subdirectories to enable read/write permissions, no dice. Set all files to run as administrator under the properties menu...no dice. Running out of ideas here. (I got WIT installed all that stuff in the readme prior to all testing.) How are people getting this to work...? I wonder what version of the game this mod is for.

When I put in the Mario Galaxy 2 disc to play it after downloading SMG2 Cosmos Collapse from the link, and try to open it using Riivolution, it does not show up on Riivolution's menu. Do you know why that is and if I can fix that? Please respond as soon as you can, as I am really wanting to play this.
