Welcome to Glitch Hunt!
Super Mario Land is the first instalment in the titular Super Mario Land series, released as a launch title for the Game Boy in 1989 as the first handheld title in the series. Unlike previous instalments, the game takes place in Sarasaland rather than the Mushroom Kingdom, and introduces Princess Daisy, a new character serving as the damsel-in-distress in place of Princess Peach.
Tatanga, a malevolent alien with powers of hypnosis, serves as both the main antagonist and final boss. Unlike previous games, Super Mario Land was not developed by Shigeru Miyamoto and Nintendo's EAD division, but by Nintendo R&D1, with Gunpei Yokoi as guiding producer.

The save battery is a technology I do not miss. My SNES Mario RPG is still going, but that is the only one.

This is great Glitch Hunting Gamer! I've seen the wrong warp glitch before on Twitch but haven't been able to get a clear explanation. A few really cool ones that I see in other games from time to time are (Zelda 1 - Screen Wrap) (Actraiser Pro Mode - Wall Clip)

Similar to the memory glitch in Link's Awakening, where you hit [select] just as the map tile is about to shift to a new screen; you get placed on the opposite end of the next screen and it can produce some insane results. Can be used in dungeons and caves.

I believe a similar Map Wrap Warp is possible in LoZ on NES too.

It's so funny seeing people deliberately triggering glitches in speedruns. I seem to run into them all the time by accident, but maybe next time I fire up some Super Mario Land, I'll be inclined to try a few of these. I love your edits and video style... keep up the good work!

The glitches that send you straight to the credits are really interesting! I remember the Super Mario World one that was found like 5 or 6 years ago was really crazy and tough to execute. Wild to see speed runs that clock in under a few a minutes. Nice work on this!

Games being beaten in minutes is just otherworldly. That Mario world glitch using yoshi and item duping is really cool. There is another set of glitches in Mario world that allow you to spawn "?" Blocks and depending on the number of blocks spawned you can open one for an item of your choosing.

This was a seriously strong first video! On a slightly off topic note: that castle transformation at around 2:40 is insanely impressive for the OG Gameboy. I mean, that type of warp animation looked impressive on stuff like the Genesis, so seeing it on a console whose processing is notably less blast than it is insanely impressive!

Thank you NichePlays. Your meme and gag game have been super tight, especially in your most recent uploads. I had to try to pull up to that bar. I remember the first time seeing that wavey effect as a kid. It was quite impressive, especially for the GB. I wonder if they are using a decompression algorithm similar to how Pokémon GEN 1 stored and drew it's Pokémon data. Kind of the reason for the glitch Pokémon MissingNo. Cheers.

Now that I think about it, could the V-pipe glitch can be used for Arbitrary Code Execution since it goes into the game’s memory and RAM?

You are correct. Many blocks just cause the game to reset, but if you plan out what you change you can effect music and graphics for sure. You will probably need a walk through walls code and air jump code to be able to navigate more easily through the blocks. Have fun with it and LMK what you find.
