This is one of the coolest GDQ events I’ve seen in my life

Every runner was incredible, and double kudos to the level creators. That portal level was WILD!

Everyone knows Mario is cool as fuck. But who knows what he's thinking? Who knows why he crushes turtles? And why do we think about him as fondly as we think of the mystical (nonexistent?) Dr Pepper? Perchance. I believe it was Kant who said "Experience without theory is blind, but theory without experience is mere intellectual play." Mario exhibits experience by crushing turts all day, but he exhibits theory by stating "Lets-a go!" Keep it up, baby! When Mario leaves his place of safety to stomp a turty, he knows that he may Die. And yet, for a man who can purchase lives with money, a life becomes a mere store of value. A tax that can be paid for, much as a rich man feels any law with a fine is a price. We think of Mario as a hero,but he is simply a one percenter of a more privileged variety. The lifekind. Perchance.

Kirbs and ShoJo are GODDAMN beasts. Like that catch up Kirbs did was HOLY SHIT

all of those levels were insanely creative. And of course also huge props to the players for keeping up with all of them. PS: I especially loved the sacrifice moment at the end of the co-op level

The way the screen effect carries across the feeds so perfectly at 41:40

Team Crushin Turts defintely lost a lot of time in the finale by not starting the level over before handing over the controller

I do think Team Perchance managed the switch much better by first restarting and then switching, while Team Crushin Turts did mostly the reverse. I do also think that it would've been even more close if Crushin Turts didn't handicap themselves that way over the course of the entire event. But nonetheless this was one of the best things I've ever witnessed. Hopefully next time we'll get another relay race ^^

I've never been more emotionally invested in anything in my life than I was with this race.

Okay, this IS incredible but in the end nothing before 1:21:00 mattered. Team Perchance didn't even wait the twenty seconds they were supposed to, just eleven and they could watch the first (very short) attempt, completely negating any disadvantage making the first 75 minutes feel pointless score-wise. Contrary to what realbchin is saying at 1:23:54, the reason why they were behind after the first one was because they needed one attempt more than Crushin' Turts. Don't get me wrong, I'm just saying the format with the 20 second penalty is terrible; the levels and runners were incredible! At least make it 30, don't let them screen cheat during that time and don't forget to count them in next time...

How does the “global machine” on the third stage work? How were the switches getting hit every time Mario got a mushroom or took damage?

@48:35 when the thwomps wrap around the screens and line up on the two games makes it look like they are going from one team's screen to the other's.

The reads are just super human in this race!

Is it just me or did Panga get a glitched teleport (didn't activate) just after 1:11:40? You can see the teleport visual effect happen, but it doesn't warp him. Seems like he might have gotten robbed by a bug there.
