You actually found an easter egg by accident. By shooting Ridley 100 times at the start, he almost drops the metroid baby before grabbing it again. It’s a very obscure secret tidbit!

I love the attention to detail in this game. One of the few sidescrollers at the time where the main character's sprite wasn't the same depending on which direction it's facing. For example, Samus's cannon stays on the same arm and doesn't swap if you change direction. I remember thinking that was awesome when I was younger.

I feel like the Speed Booster was Nintendo's way of calling Sega out on their "blast processing" BS.
@PointReflex
@PointReflex 5 жыл бұрын
@@gurvmlk It came out years ago that Blast Processing is based on the hardware capabilities of the Genesis to blast chunks of data from the CPU into RAM thu the DMA allowing the system to show more graphical stuff on screen without loss of framerate. For the record, the CPU was not only faster it also had an internal 32 bit instruction bus inside and an external 16 bits output while the SNES was 16 bits inside with an 8 bit output wich was for the NES compatibility that was scrapped completly. Also the Genesis had either bigger or more sprites capabilities and twice the memory speed wich allowed the system to generate thru software almost if not all of the SNES Modes from 0 to 7. The SNES had a chunck of better hardware but most people overblows this fact forgetting that the Genesis was way more better in almost half of the internal hardware capabilities and in many games it shows. One example is Contra Hard Corps. better use of color and insane amount of stuff on screen without any loss of framerate in contrast to Contra III The Alien Wars.

Mike mentioned "Metroid Doom", and... there IS indeed an amazingly awesome crossover / re-skin of Doom as Metroid. :) Thumbs up so that James and Mike see it, and... who knows... maybe Mike will play it, hehehe. It's pretty great. Even morph ball + bombs are allowed...

easily one of the best games on the SNES. I'm surprised I beat this game when I was a kid, I was only 6-7 when I beat it. whats crazy is that I never got the grappling hook as a kid, but somehow beat it using lots of shine sparks (before knowing what that actually was). the game to this day, still gives me the same feeling of wonderment when I was a kid. I love this game so much lol

He constantly telling James what to do and what will happen next. James looked very annoyed at the end, even Mike saw it and offered him to save and do it another time. Same thing happened in their Zelda: A link to the past videos.

You do realise they have been playing this for hours. James has a pretty busy life so he doesn't have the time to sit there all day. I'd say they were in at least a 3 hour session with several deaths. I think it's more he's aware of how much time it is taking up.
