Nintendo is crazy, they been sitting on this code for decades yet they complained about the low sales of Super Punchout carts back then. An easy post in Nintendo Power in the 90's seems like a no brainer.

Been playing this for about 30 years and I’m pleasantly surprised. I mean, after you beat the game, you can fight anyone you want, but controlling the opponents is pretty mind-blowing. Thanks for the info, Jay!

Back in the day, regular people didn't have the ability to data mine games like they can today. And woth as much media being created today, people aren't looking at older games to see what secrets they hold. This is an awesome find that I hope will get more people interested in the punch out series since anyone can try it out on NSO.

Also it may have been a way to test interactions rather than coding the AI to do something, have another tester do it. This would probably cut down on workload for programmers, and up the potential of forcing highly unlikely situations to be tested.

Just the idea of playing this multiplayer now makes me feel like we missed out on some potential fun times back in the day. I don't know...maybe it's just me.
