I have not been honest with my music or myself because I never actually learned music, I only learned to "play" repeated, memorized concepts and scales. And because of that, I have always struggled to truly 'hear the intervals', which has always made it difficult for me to translate the intervals to the fingerboard. I think that approach also makes me slower to learn new concepts. I am very thankful for your videos as they have been extremely helpful in my effort to properly learn music/guitar theory. Your approach to thinking and the grace with which you present it have affected multiple facets of my life. Thank you.

So happy to have discovered this channel. I have been playing for 30 years now, but I always feel like there is something wrong with my playing. I was so focused about the technique, alternate/sweep/economy/hybrid picking, legato, tapping... I am into metal and I felt I needed those technics... And there are so many of those, and my models play so fast... Then, I reach a point where I can play fast and clean but I can't do a simple jam with people and come with something musically interesting. So now, I am trying to build some solid foundations, and the way you approach things is exactly what I needed. Play simple, learn just a bit each day... And after a couple of weeks only, I feel like a completely different musician. Why do we, self-taught have to realize so late that learning with tablatures and chords/scales shape was not the way to go 😅 Thank you very much from France

Tomo, I have a good idea for your perfecting your guitar wisdom. Have a nephew ( basically any beginner) try your course and you basically watch them learn off your lessons and see if where they can progress easily and where they get stuck. Then you know where some parts of your course needs reworking or more indepth videos and where you had very good lessons so you can use same strategy/teaching for new lessons. It might take some time but I think watching someone learn in real time and being able to interact them would help you understand how to teach even better. Have a good day!

Tomo, I'm working on these but i don't get as much time on the guitar as I'd like so sometimes I'm just writing on my notebook from memory the circle of fifths and then working out the intervals for each key and then pulling the triad out of that. This helps me see the way triads are formed. But my problem is when i go to play them. I am still learning the notes on the fretboard so it takes a lot of time figuring out finger placement for each triad. I know this can be a good way to learn the fretboard at the same time but i never feel like i get far enough to make much progress.

Most people too smart to learn guitar. Smart people want to know the result or very specific things. I don't teach same says on one subject. I need to figure out the best fit for each personality.
