Today we moved really heavy equipment with tools not made to do it and equipment not intended for the job

Ya they were an awesome score and I’m sure they will be better than the little tiny one that I have been expecting to do huge jobs that it just wasn’t made for

I've been looking for a mid size lathe that needs rebuilt so I can get it for a low cost but until then I stick with my 104 year old Allen electric lathe with a 10 inch swing . But after 104 years of hard use things have broke and I've repaired since zero parts are available and things get worn out. I'll make do though I have it accurate enough that I can make parts I need. You got yourself a pair of pretty nice lathes with a little love and hillbilly voodoo

I’ve been on the hunt for over 20 years for one I could afford and every time I had enough money saved up something more important came up so I guess good things eventually come to those who wait

haven't quite figured that one out yet but seeing how it's an engine lathe and it currently has a motor we might have to change that haha

I guess it’s purpose modified for moving lathes now. I’m going to put the hitch back on it so it’s not so sketchy when I move the next one

Nice find just think of all the parts you ll be able to build. shaft this, adapter that. They'll be worth their weight in gold for the type of projects you build and there big too!

Ya I’m hoping to set one up for machining and the other for horizontal milling if I can get them to run properly

@@HillBillyVoodoo oh ya I guess you put a vice where the tool goes and a mill tool in the chuck. that would be some great voodoo if you could get both running. but even if you can only get one running you could still use the parts lathe to hold things straight and do all your welding in it and not risk your good machine

I actually debated building something like this to transport my big lathe when I bought it but I borrowed a big trailer and paid someone to load it up at the auction house the unloading was sketchy as f**** but I got it done lol
