I didn’t realize this was an old sound effect. In Frontiers I really liked this sfx used for Super Sonic.

One thing I really like about this sound effect, is that it sounds like a menacing opening to a heavy metal song, the way it slowly builds up tension, it makes you know that once Sonic turns super, you're fucked.

That's because it is! The sound effect came from Sonic Unleashed and it looks like they put a motif reference into the sound.

It is! The sound effect originates from Unleashed and whoever made the sound effect appears to have done that on purpose as a homage to it (I think, at least).

FINALLY! I've been wanting to find a video of this so I could show people when I ask about the sound Super Sonic emits. Wonder what sounds they used and edited to make into this. I think two parts of it might be sandpaper and something rubbing something else, like how some ASMR videos do, but the third part that sounds like neither of those? Not sure how they get that part.
