Yeah. It's also been the most popular card game on the market (beating out even hearthstone in popularity.) since it originally came out. Well, I take that back, the Star Wars CCG has been more popular than it in the far past (around 1999 and 2000 or was when the SW CCG was more popular) That said, even though it's the most popular, it only became the best selling a few years back when they started releasing what I like to call "super ultra mega special super awesome special cards" that you'll only get in every 100+ card packs. (Yu-gi-oh, was the best selling card game, incase you were wondering)

Thank you guys so much! I really appreciate this video! I started Magic a few weeks ago and I was completely clueless. I opened 4 bundle boxes x2 Ixalan, x1 Amonkhet and x1 Hour of Devastation and didn't know what I pulled. Now I have a much better idea! Since I have Vraska planes walker and vraska's contempt and deadeye trackers, I will make a green black pirate deck! I also got Carnage Tyrant, Ripjaw Raptors and Fericodon so I will make a green red deck. :)

The idea is to get alot of land early on so that you can summon monsters with it. each land is represented as a mana. its very simular to yu gi oh, there are some diffrences like, magic the gathering dosen't have any fusion monsters. in yu gi oh you sacrifise monsters to play bigger monsters in magic of the gathering you just need to have enough land and you can summon any creature.

Hey are there any ready to go decks to buy? I've read a little about clash packs, but how do I know they are good and "up to date"? Will I fall behind if I buy older ones?
@whorod8895
@whorod8895 7 жыл бұрын
Valkorn367 there are. You can buy planeswalker decks that are prebuilt 60 card decks that are themed around a single planeswalker. Two of them release with each new set. Also, clash packs have two decks that are meant to play against each other (like duel decks) and are relatively balanced against each other. You won't really fall behind by getting older ones if you are playing casually.

Also, when I was watching Tolarian Community College he was talkiong about something "standard" and about rotations, does that means some cards aren't in use after a while?
@Valkorn367
@Valkorn367 7 жыл бұрын
I think youtube ate my previous comment :( I was talking about how Tolarian Community College said planeswalker decks are only for new players and only usefull for couple of games, because any player that's not new to this won't buy it, so clash pack is best for me I guess - I might find some friends to try it out, and I will have already prepped deck for them with clash pack.

Curve is more important if you play seriously though or when you're just starting out. By the end of my MTG playing (it's too expensive for me to keep up with now so I went cold turkey and sold all my cards), I was playing an 80 card green deck focused on landfall (abilities activated by playing a land card), elves, and big beasts/tokens. the elves were used to draw more lands, to the point where I could have 10 by turn 3 in really lucky games, and then just playing the biggest nastiest wurms, behemoths, etc as well as four Howl of the Night Pack (summon one wolf token creature for every land you control), which gets pretty ridiculous when you combine it with Coat of Arms (+1/+1 for each creature you control of the same type, so if you have 10 1/1 wolf tokens they become 11/11). Of course, this was out of tournament play and was more casual "see this bullshit deck I made?" style gameplay, but i think it's important to play the game in different formats if you want to keep it fresh.
@Alino-
@Alino- 7 жыл бұрын
yeah, this game's stupidly expensive. I stopped playing after I got into online card games (Eternal is the best card game I've ever played. Some of my friends work with the company that made it, and the game is great - it's ALOT like a modernized MTG made for online play)
