In today's video, I'll be bringing you the latest updates in the world of AR & VR. First up, we'll discuss Meta's new feature that allows you to sideload updates through the browser using the Quest Software Update Tool. Following that, we'll dive into Meta's rebranding of the Quest Mobile App once again.
Next, we'll look at the exciting new eye-tracking add-on for the Quest 2 called Inseye Lumi, which boasts cameraless eye-tracking capabilities. We'll also explore the new compute unit for Xreal glasses, enhancing your experience with the Xreal Beam Pro.

Eye tracking for foveated rendering. If enough people use it then there's hope for a larger adoption and better performance in vr is a godsend. Imagine a future where VR headsets have bigger FOVs. Eyetracking is mandatory. Hope this paves the way. Can't wait to try it out hopefully soon.

That eye tracking addon is a HUGE deal in terms of capability upgrade....If it can work natively for Meta Quest OS and PCVR APIs (OpenVR/OpenXR) for Dynamic foveated rendering and gaze-based apps compatibility. ~$660 for an eye tracked Q3 is the ultimate sweet spot for an all-around capable HMD. Lol, its crazy. PSVR2 has the capability for eye tracking, but wont use it for PCVR. Quest doesn't have the capability, but added it on for PCVR.

I got meta quest 3, no regrets for over 5 months now. I love it, but I wish more AAA games would be developed for it. Zenith for example is not bad, but is far from what I wanna get as an MMORPG, and so on. Some popular games like WoW, Diablo, Helldiver 2, Overlord (1 and 2), Star wars based games (not mods). This is what would make it great in my opinion. Life apps, and so on would make it even better.

the v66 update does NOT have less warping in pass through. i do have v66 on my headset and its exactly the same as before.

I think the warping is actually stronger when objects like hands are closer to the lenses. But it might be better for further away.

I usually get updates about a month late on my Q3. Metas sideloading sounds useful. But does it also guarantee the activation of new features though. As of now it could happen that we'd download an update and not sctually getting the improvements. I just got the latest update yesterday and the passthrough warping is still identical. But i can remove aps from my library view now.

tried sideloading a update but on the website it said: Connection Failed Error claiming interface: Ensure no other tabs are accessing the device and that local ADB isn't connected. If needed, run 'adb kill-server' in the terminal and retry connect. What should I do?

@@SniperXXIn Chrome. Can't use on Safari, iPhone, or iPad. Poses a security risk by opening up USB to the web. Either way, this is still installing v66 right now.

Correct. I heard somewhere that updates are not "full updates", but rather segmented. Apparently, 2 people getting the v66 update may have slightly different "packages" of new or improved features, though eventually everyone gets everything. Not sure why they do that.

@cyberboy9550 While $160 is expensive, I'd consider it muuuch better than potentially losing my vision from a janky cheap eye tracking device that is using poor/incorrect infrared light. There exist some "invisible" lights to the naked eye that could still cause harm.

Quest 3 for PCVR for me, it's wireless, convenient and just works most of the time. Battery life is not that much of an issue, because Standing VR gaming can get tiring after a few hours. Streaming is also very easy with the Quest 3.

Rockin my quest 2 still. The AR hasn’t quite impressed me enough on the Q3. Been watching Sony to see how good their pc integration turns out. That eye tracking tool looks super promising and honestly might upgrade the Q2 enough to where I want it. Want the Jarvis minority report edit station.

I'm still using the Quest 3, but I would love a modular headset that you can add/remove pieces from. That way once you get more money you could add more pieces. Also, as a blind glasses wearer, my options are limited. I would love to have more choices besides the quest for wearing glasses, since they don't make my lens prescription (yay blind)

With PCVR, I really just want less weight on my face/head without shelling out thousands on a headset. I don't mind wires, but having all that extra weight on my head is what really limits my playtime. I really don't mind moving some processing to pocketable devices or etc even if it's clunky and honestly wish more companies would do that until we can have the slim glasses-shaped true VR devices.

Important thing to remember inseye if they even launch it will not do pupil dilation.. because of their method of tracking. Its cool more companies look into eyetracking but I think their product is trying to solve a problem that never was..camera tracking is plenty ok and power usage was never a huge deal with the rest taking so much more

I saw a ton of comments on another KZfaqrs video on the update website yesterday and they all said the latest it would let them update to sas 65. Tons of people saying it wouldn't let them update to current v66.

I just want it known, that the Meta Quest official update tool IS IP LOCKED. All Australians who visit without a vpn will be met with a broken page error. I tested it by changing my IP after the link and google result yielded the same page with the same error.

the bigscreen beyond is my dream. In theory it is not far from my little version of heaven, no extra bells and whistles, just good res and low weight. Unfortunately it is just a dream though at the price.

5:00 - Wow, this is actually a brilliant solution right on the surface. The result is a method similar to triangulation, when, based on the readings of several sensors, the exact location of an object can be determined. This is how the location of a mobile phone across multiple communication towers works. In this case, the approach is slightly different in terms of taking readings, but the essence remains the same. P.s Still wondering, is it possible to make the same accessory, but with cameras? Why hasn't anyone done this yet?

The eye tracking accessory is very cool but the forgot about one thing: USB passthrough charging They block all ports and don’t allow you to charge (rip powerbanks or straps with batteries) or to connect headphones. That’s a miss tbh

I mothballed my Index in favor of the Quest 3. Back in the day, I never thought I'd convert to standalone. On paper, lighthouse tracking and tethered headsets will always have better performance. However, in practicality the Quest 3 tracking is VERY good, and streaming PC VR makes the other point rather moot. Unlike the Index or the Vive, the Quest is constantly being updated. With a couple of 65W USB C batteries or tethered to a 65W USB C charger, you can use the Quest 3 endlessly.

That third party eye tracking system is nice. I'll probably pick it up for prime day or Black Friday for 40-50% off. If it can communicate with my PC to have foveated rendering there, then you've got my money.

I think they actually took it down a few minutes after I released the video.... I really hope this is temporary and they're possibly fixing something about it. If not they just removed something thousands of people loved.
