Video showing how I made this holed tool post which I call my "swiss cheese tool post". The idea being to hold tools with a round shank (such as micro boring bars) with minimal fuss and to allow quick setup. The tool is easy to make and can be finished in just a weekend on a typical mini or micro lathe. This one was produced for my Cowells 90ME lathe but the design could easily be adapted for other small lathes such as the Emco Unimat or Sherline. The tool post is drilled in place on the lathe which ensures perfect centre height and aids quick setup in use.
