It’s remarkable how familiar AWOL seems after watching Tristan’s vlog, but sheer size of the ship wasn’t obvious until I saw this. I also find it very reassuring that so much effort is being made to protect the teak decking before the party - it would be criminal to damage that beautiful wood! Please, Tristan, do invite Nick back to do another of his tours when AWOL is charter-ready.

Now we just need Tristan to do a tour of Smuggler's Blues 2.

What is truly amazing is that the OWNER(s) allow Tristan to vlog on board and you to do your tour. Very few would allow either to happen so a very big thank you to them as well as Tristan for allowing this and you for such a well done tour of a very busy vessel.

You can see why AWOL is such a popular charter yacht. From Tristan's channel we know what a good captain and crew she has, and from Nick's tour we see AWOL is a yacht to be lived on and enjoyed. Not a super yacht designed to be looked at in photo's in a glossy style magazine, but not actually really designed for people to just enjoy staying on.

Great tour even under such chaotic conditions. I noticed the nice captains cabin, but remembered that as a couple Tristam and his good lady have to use the crew quarters.

One of the biggest reasons AWOL is so popular as a charter is that they have an award winning chef onboard. He could certainly work anywhere in the world or run his own restaurant but he chooses to work at AWOL. This makes every other yacht owner green with envy.

Only just stumbled across Tristan's channel so really nice to have you do a tour. I like how Tristan shows what running a big yacht is like.

WOW! WHAT A TREAT! I have been a regular follower of Tristan's channel: of course, he cannot show guest accommodations, so you have an 'exclusive' here. Tristan admires the dedication of his owner to the boat. Now we know why: serious engineering; exceptionally well-thought out spaces and even CHROMED surfaces in the engine room. No matter that you had to speed through the galley: Tristan's viewers know that it is exceptional for space and equipment. Would have been nice to give a brief on-camera for the award-winning chef (assuming he had a spare second.)

Thanks for the tour of AWOL. You are always comprehensive. I was surprised by the range for a San Lorenzo.

It feels like my life is now complete. I really appreciate both of you so much. I was in a work accident several years ago, and I all likleyhood will never get to see or use such amazing boats/experiences. With the material you both put out, it allows me to feel like I am there.

Nice to see AWOL from a different perspective. I follow Tristan and his channel and find it quite entertaining and interesting. A pity all was a bit upside down with all the preparations for the party, but that's the life on a superyacht for you. Crew working flat out to cater to the guests that will come on board. I really like the anthracite/light wood mix. It's very elegant. I'm also very impressed with the standard of upkeep. Any working device that has people enjoying themselves is bound to show use and have the odd bang and dent but this yacht did not. A generous crew would say they have perfect guests. A good owner would say they have a perfect crew. Great tour.

Nice you ended the program in the Engineering Room, just so you wouldn't impede the other work going on. Respect. :)

Interesting to see how a commercial charter boat has to be able to “change layout” to maximise the revenue it can generate. The crew on these sorts of boats work hard for their living both doing stuff and organising contractors do do stuff.

excellent Excellent EXCELLENT! VIDEO. I've a whole new appreciation for AWOL!! That "engine room" space -- entrance, control room, engine room, garage, and huge engineers workbench is the best layout I've seen on any super yacht so far! I don't feel any apologies were necessary for your tour of the boat -- this video is excellent. I don't really know how you do it, but you do exceptional tour videos of all the boats and one gets a great (or in this case greater) understanding of the layout from stem to stern. Well done. PS EDIT: And a cameo of the Givenator always makes a video better :)

Thank you, Nick and Tristan. Bearing in mind how busy it was on board preparing for an event it was a great tour of AWOL and for me filled in many gaps of the yacht’s layout. I am a huge fan of both Nick and Tristan's KZfaq channel and a combined joining of the mega stars of video sharing is just what the doctor ordered. A tour of AWOL by Nick or Tristan dressed ready for a charter would be amazing. It is particularly interesting to note that although AWOL was delivered in 2009 and yes it has had the odd refit during its lifetime it still stands out as being a very desirable and reasonable up to date yacht enhanced by its Captain Tristan and his crew. Because of the quality, constant upkeep of the yacht and competence of the crew I am sure that one or two weeks meandering the Mediterranean in AWOL would be as good as or better than being on a 2020/21 equivalent yacht. Superb video Nick.
