That creature is some sort of Phantom Zone being that feeds off the rage and fear of the imprisoned spirits, who are mainly heinous criminals anyway; a sort of salt in the wound to their damnation. They made a brief appearance in the episode "Phantoms" of the old _Legion of Superheroes_ cartoon, wielded by a descendant of General Zod. I much prefer this design, since it feel sleeker and scarier :)

Has anyone thought about it like did Connor really die? What if phantom girl opened a portal the moment the bomb went off and they got thrown somewhere. Because we all thinking they both are dead but there’s something missing

@@mattmosby5264 The Phantom Zone isn't for the dead, it's for prisoners that take spirit-like forms. Connor and Tinya wouldn't be there if they were truly dead.

@@mattmosby5264 that's what I'm thinking. They didn't have a phantom zone projector so how did they end up there? You can't go there by ordinary means and dead Kryptonians don't show up after they physically die, they have to be placed there. The only logical explanation is that when Connor placed the bomb in the lava & it exploded with Kryptonite, the only thing that Phantom girl could do was transport them to the Phantom Zone. I'm assuming the quick jump, kryptonite bomb or something related to that sent her into the zone passed out and since nothing changes in the zone itself, she is stuck in her unconscious state. ****WARNING SPOILERS NEXT SENTENCE IF YOU HAVENT SEEN LATEST EPISODE DONT READ*** With the latest episode, it seems that even though the projector is toast, Phantom girl was awakened which is probably how they will escape the zone. I am assuming due to zone sickness and such, she or Connor won't know that Zod is a threat and all of them will be transported out by Phantom Girl! It is probably gonna be the season ender where they will be pulled out and a war will ensue with Metron, New Gods, JL, and the rest of the team as they are gonna have an army of Kryptonians bent on revenge coming out.

I really hope Superboy comes back in one piece from the Phantom Zone. Maybe he can unlock more of his Kryptonian Powers after he gets a new Physical Body.

Phantom zone removes powers for the most part, at least Kryptonians. You know missing yellow sun and all. Its also a place in a void, a dead planet. I don’t remember if you can die by age there though.

@@bahamutr4270 That’s nothing more than a name. Its meaning only comes from the person behind it. Reminds me of something Injustice Batman said to Supergirl, how it’s not the symbol but the person behind it. I’m also reminded of what Superman said to Superboy-Prime about what it means to be Superman, how it’s not about what you wear on your chest or etc. but your actions.

The only way Connor will get out of there and have full kryptonian abilities like Superman is if phantom girl wakes up and Connor takes over his clones body because his clone never died or anything he was put on ice and the legion of doom took his body but never said where. Because Connor what’s the point of his putting all that effort to come back if his physical body got burned at mars when that bomb went off full of kryptonite that made his vulnerable plus his dna was half human

In the Young Justice tie-in comics (canon) clone Superboy ends up mutating and becomes a sort of bizarro freak. So that's likely not possible and sounds like weak writing anyway.

Idk how or when he will get out but I know he will. But imo, when he successfully gets out of that place is, probably it takes like years after his sacrifice. Once he escapes, he'll realize that everybody has moved on already, and what hurts more is that his fiance, M'gann didn't just move on. But she found someone else and they have a family right now, but it's not Conner, sadly. Perhaps he either escapes the Phantom Zone either in the season 4 finale or apparently in the middle of season 5.

@@robybalde5742 Oh, I gotcha. Nah I'm fairly sure that won't happen. He will make it back. I'm really really hoping we get Wally back too, wally is my favorite Flash and he's the best Flash. So for him to die, especially so young was just stupid. I'll never give up on Wally returning until the show is done for good.

PHANTOM zone is quite interesting and realistic ! Why ? Because they are not dead and they still have their bodies ! But because they don't eat they cant grow or regenerate anything, or even heal basic wounds, quite cool

His mind started deteriorating the longer he was alone and hallucinating to keep himself going. He basically is back to how he was in the first few episodes of season 1. Hopefully someone will fish him out of all of this and help him heal.

Wouldn't they have a ''Phantom Zoo Zone'' or ''Phantom Reserve Zone'' to keep creatures like that separate from people ? How many times people are sent there that aren't meant to be being reason enough ?
