Fascinating that they sing a work song while doing a complex/heavy task. It's a fantastic way used to focus the mind and has been used by humans throughout history in military and civilian fields. Not only does the song help them work, but it reinforces their obedience to Zod, maybe without them even realizing it.

I think Zod is literally brainwashing them with his willpower. Since the phantom zone is literally controlled by willpower, if you were strong enough, you could bend someone to your will if they weren’t mentally strong enough.

Okay if I remember correctly. Zod in theory would know of him being superboy. Remember, his defeat was indeed due to connors legacy so I feel like much like his son he figured out what inspired them. They also mentioned not knowing a species when pointing out ghosty who is also human looking. they might have just aimed to kill and after learning he’s alive with no memory connor is a useful weapon. Hell just think, zod conveniently found Connor and again he seems to know him

I can confirm yes, it gets stuck. I've been looking for this all morning. That brainwashing, psychological conditioning shit right there. That was my first thought and goes pretty well with the study I've been doing on the subtle ways cults or other institutions can infiltrate core belief systems starting from shallow, surface thoughts. And Connor's mind is abnormally malleable due to trauma and mental exhaustion bombarded on him over so many months.

My favorite part is that superman hasnt met him yet in this timeline, keeping the interactions fresh. Im also excited for their inevitable interactions with darkseid, it's looking like he's getting ready to start something and the krytonians probably wont help him

Honestly I don’t think it’s either deliberate manipulation or Conner genuinely being converted. I think it’s just him realizing that this is his best option and rolling with it. Now if he starts getting his memories back and Zod figures out that he’s an El, this’ll get a lot more complicated.

Connor doesn't sound like himself. He sounds like a drone. I think the memory flashes are either fragments of his subconscious trying to keep his identity intact, or it's more of himself slipping away. Either way, when they rescue him from the Phantom Zone, be it via the projector or magic, he's not going to be normal.

as time goes on superboys hallucinations seem to get closer and closer to his basic instincts. In the beginning he remembers miss m and the life they built together, but as time goes on you see all the more recent memories and experiences fade. Its at this point that he starts thinking about abandoning phantom girl and wavering back and forth on this. Until his final hallucination which was him fulfilling his reason for creation. Killing superman for lex luthor.

Alternatively, it’s possible that some of Superboy’s dormant Cadmus conditioning is resurfacing due to his memories being screwed up, and he may end up reverting back to how he was before he became part of the team…

I feel like the whole moving things and communicating through willpower might be foreshadowing to Conner developing his Telekinetic powers from the comics during his time in the phantom zone, maybe it’ll be the very thing that lets him (and most likely Zod) escape.

I hope during his time with Zod, although it seems unlikely that Conner can change him for the better. In recent comics, Zod and his family are on much better terms with the house of El than they were previously and I hope the show goes that route. There's only so little kryptonians left and if Zod and his followers can't change for the better than they'll stay trapped in the phantom zone and eventually pure kryptonians will become extinct in the universe.

Ok, so either Zod will get attached to Conner or Conner is playing Zod. But I would like Conner actually learning new stuff from Zod, like kryptonian combat style, and maybe unlocking more powers. Pretty cool how the Phantom Zone is pretty much a "testing ground" for when they get exposed to yellow sunlight. Wonder if Darkseid is planning to use kryptonians as part of his army. Also, who's the El in Zod's group? Catchy song tho.

Maybe not. Remember, in most continuities, Clark only knows his biological parents (as well as Zod's group) are the only Kryptonians he's known, as well as Supergirl and her parents. Connor doesn't seem to identify with his Kryptonian ancestors

I know! I really don’t understand why so many people don’t like this show. I mean I get that Outsiders, (Season 3) was everyone’s favorite. But I’ve watched every single episode of that season as well as Phantoms and I loved them both! I do understand Outsiders had problems but I thought it was a fantastic season and even though there were a lot of characters and storylines going on. I thought the writers weaved everything together to them really well. And Phantoms is clear evidence that everyone working on YJ are constantly learning from their mistakes and listening to feed back to make the BEST seasons possible out of this stellar series.

These scene does seem unusual - perhaps due to superheroes being the product of American culture and Americans value democracy and freedom. So to see a superhero kneel is a rare thing, even though obedience isn’t necessarily a negative trait.

PHANTOM zone is quite interesting and realistic ! Why ? Because they are not dead and they still have their bodies ! But because they don't eat they cant grow or regenerate anything, or even heal basic wounds, quite cool

Clearly it was Phantom Girl's powers that got both of them into this mess. She probably phased into the Phantom Zone while in a state of distress, and it had physical repercussions

Simple she phased in order to protect Superboy but the blast caused her to lose consciousness while in the state of phasing meaning her her powers allow her to phase into the phantom momentarily but now she's unconscious and unable to phase out also I doubt she knew the true extent of her abilities which is phasing through dimensions
