I have a 95 M3. I don't know why some commenters think it's Eurotrash. It's a great confidence inspiring car. BTW my shift knob sometimes pops off. Just don't man handle it and it'll stay on just fine.

I have an E36 M3 and that was my reaction when my shift knob came off too lol it did help me "push" into gears instead of grabbing the knob so that helped

Easiest way to fix the shift knob problem is to wrap two 1 inch pieces of duck tape around the metal piece the knob go's over. SOURCE: I did that with my E46

I love my e36 m3 and don't ever want to get rid of it. I only put 2k a year on it, but it's all balls to the walls miles and a lot of fun. It's one of the best handling cars of the 90's and you will be scared before you ever hit the limits in this car in turns. It's that good of a road car. This car transmits everything through the wheel where newer cars are so numb. I hate new sports cars with their electric steering. I really want to try out a m235 since it's the only good bmw left in my opinion. I've always wanted an e46 m3 though. It's the next car on my list to buy.

I love how right after you rip the gear knob off, the owner replies in the calmest voice possible " Yeah, that happens".

What are u talking about? "Before u get into boost?" The thing with superchargers is, that u don't get into boost at all because its always there. That's the main difference between a turbo and a mechanical supercharger. There is no lag. Therefore a supercharged engine has the same characteristics as an normal engine except u got much more torque over the entire rev/speed range.

But what stood out the most to me is...supercharger install, but no M50 manifold? On a 328is or M3 an M50 manifold is so essential you should install that before even checking the fluids, lol.

I recently purchased an E46 and was looking into either a turbo setup or an AA supercharger kit and came across this vid. While the turbo kit may run me less out of pocket the amount of effort and work that AA puts into tuning their kits to work with stock ECU's is worth the price tag to me. I will be getting one around tax return and putting it on after I rebuild the motor with a little better internals. My E46 is still running strong with over 222k miles on it but I'm not stupid enough to supercharge/turbo a stock motor with that much wear on it.

Quick release shift knob action. NICE!

If you had a bottom end that could handle more boost, you could get a smaller pulley on the blower, and make more power. If the head was a vortech you could have a race bearing put in it and run cog drive or call the manufacturer and see if that head can handle a cog pulley if so, cog drive is a belt with teeth because every blower with a regular belt it slips so your not getting the boost you should even if you have the same size pulley.But put a cog on there and the faster you go the more whistle or wyne you'll get plus no slippage if you go by someone at 80 with a cog set up it will literally sound like a jet just went by and it sounds like you have a good blow off valve already, always make sure you have that . Because when you start making boost and you let off the air from the supercharger that was just made blows out the valve instead of being stuck in the pipe were it can a blow a tube off or bust your crank or bend the butterfly in your throttle body only if you have no blow off valve with a cog set up.

I drive a 1999 323is and the things you said about the gas and clutch pedal were spot on XD. Great review! My shift knob has also popped off a few times.. nothing a little guerrilla glue couldn't fix though.
