Supercharged Ford FPV GT

In late 2010 Ford Performance Vehicles Australia made a wise move in dumping the 5.4 Boss V8 engine in favour of the new supercharged 5.0L. This engine is essentially a supercharged version of the Coyote quad cam engine known as the Miami. Dan’s FG Falcon is powered by the 335kW version however it's common knowledge that Ford Australia ran with very underrated power figures. Let’s see how this example fairs both on the dyno and at the track.

Wish we could get these in the states. That blower in the valley of the block with the air to water up top is such a unique design.

I wish we got ford falcons, ford typhoons, Holden Commodores and other Holdens in the U.S. Is there any cars in the U.S that aren't available in Australia that you wished were?

GM is rumored to be working on bringing the next generation C8 Corvette to Australia, however, GM is having trouble trademarking the Corvette logo. Australian magazine Wheels reports that GM has spent "tens of thousands of dollars" trying to gain approval for the Corvette's twin-flag emblem, but the government body that is in charge of trademarks in Australia claims that the bowtie in the Corvette's emblem looks too much like the Red Cross. And according to the 1957 Geneva Act, the Red Cross can only be used in times of conflict to symbolize a medical vehicle that should not be fired on.

"Aussie boagan 6s and 8s?" Don't worry sunjabib, you can still buy a Camry and put TRD badges on it, live up to the stereotype by driving it 60 in an 80 zone in the right lane, and cause multiple accidents in the process. I'd rather be a bogan with a ford than a fuckwit with a Camry.

Fullboost yeah fair enough, i thought it wasn't the best stuff though. They recommend red coolant in ls1's but no one ever uses it

+kyle de man I'm sure america has a supercharged version of the 5.0L coyote engine. The 5.0L Supercharged engine in this is the "miami" which is a coyote engine + australian engineered supercharger setup from prodrive. articles.sae.org/9352/

+kyle de man Nope, America never got the 5L supercharged. We had Coyote Boss, 5.4 and 5.8L supercharged, and the new 5.2 flat crank 8200rpm gt350 though

no we never did. Most people put aftermarket whipple superchargers on them though. The gt 500 is rumored to have one. They need to soon because the dodge demon is gonna be 800 hp from the factory lol

yea, im a ford fan and im sad to see both cars go. there not just cars, they're aussie history, and the aussie car industry will never have the same amount of competitiveness in a long time.
