nice supercharger set up. Did u custom made the pulley set up and tensioner?? looks like the supercharger adapter plate is from thomas knight?? I m working on a custom supercharged ka24de set-up with a M-90 and water/air intercooler....

What does relocating the oil filter do? Is it a function for the supercharger or the oil for easier access for oil changes?

It makes it easier to change. The stock placement is underneath the S/C. It also allows for more oil to be put in the system.

@StrattMatt77, i find it weird also, because I had a '89 240sx, and it had a Dohc swap in it. Previous owner claimed that it had 80'000km on the engine, and i beat the piss out of that car and I did as well with my truck which has 375'000 on stock motor never opened up and I think the truck is just as quick as the 240 was. Except the car drifted better because it had coil overs and those cars pretty much can drift by themselves it seems. I just wish these trucks either came with the ka24de, or like a CA18 or SR20 or something. Would make putting a turbo on them a breeze. B

The 240sx came with the ka24E (single cam) from 89-91 (pig nose 240sx). They then went with the ka24DE (double cam) from 91 up.

The Hardbody/ d21 was single cam ka24 from 90 to 96. When they became the frontier, they used the dual cam ka24 for 97 and up frontiers.

Besides the intake and a few sensors the block for the 240 ka was made in Japan while the block for the frontier ka was made in Mexico

I think it's the stock engine. It's what my '93 240SX has.

StratMatt777, it depends on the year of the truck, my '95 hardbody has a KA24E in it. sohc engine. i think the last year of this body style went to ka24de.

TheRexx101 Interesting- 240SX went from single to dual OHC in 1991. I'm sure there was no rush to do so on the truck since 140HP is probably enough for a truck and you don't get the additional 15HP unless you rev it up to the increased redline of the DE (which was made possible by balancing the crankshaft better).

I know no one cares anymore 2 years later, but the D21 never came with the KA24DE. When the switch to Frontier happened is when the switch to the KA24DE happened. The Frontier had the KA24DE until like 2004 when they switched to the QR25DE.
