Most people are looking for leaders or mentors and coaches and teachers because nobody is born with complete knowledge of the world and themselves. Because of that most people fall prey to people who set themselves up as experts and gurus. In fact there are many people who know a lot of things that other people don't know whether it's about cars or planes or crossword puzzles because they put in the time to learn. It doesn't take much effort to know more about something than most people.

It appears that our faculty for knowing anything is between our ears and also in the area of our heart that communicates with our brain by way of the vegas nerve and hormones according to certain research. So when we die, it doesn't seem it would be any different than when we go under anesthesia for surgery that completely knocks us out. When we wake up from sleep or surgery, we don't know if we've been asleep for ten minutes ten years or ten million years. Our only indication is what we see when we wake up. So, when the seat of our consciousness in our body shuts down, we are completely unaware of it unless we wake up. In the case of death, the unconscious state is permanent and forever. And since our only way of knowing whether we are awake or not has been totally dissolved, clearly we won't know that we are dead anymore than we are aware when we are under anesthesia in surgery. And if we don't wake up, we are none the wiser. carpe diem. Read "On the shortness of life" by seneca. No worries, it's a very short book.

I imagine most people who dont believe in God have personally, or saw others suffer something terrible and God didnt step in to stop it or show up like a genie to remedy or grant the wish. In most cases its people who cause others or even themselves to suffer or be killed. No miracle occurred. I have personally experienced the terrible and the miracles, but one has to be open to the miracles. That is the nature of miracles; that outside hope that suddenly changes the circumstance in your or others favor. At worst it can be called "luck", but even that requires a certain amount of "faith" and "positive energy" it seems, to come about. In the instance of "natural" disasters God gets blamed or is characterized as uncaring or vengeful by atheists though they dont believe in God. And l dont know why such things happen or causes or brings them on but invariably God is the bad guy. This is what Judeo-Christians and other spiritual beliefs call a fallen world. A world where evil and good exist on the same plane of existence ie this material universe and our physical senses where inexorably things deteriorate by entropy and living beings grow old and die; with evil and good exerting their influences or energy in it. Death IS the greatest evil in our universe as it was never meant to be. By J-C accounts that too was brought about by mankind, as most if not all, bad/evil is. And according to the J-C account God made provision for the rift between mankind and God that brought about death. But one has to *_KNOW_* , not just "believe in", God and allow for miracles to happen. Whats strange is the more amazing the miracle the less chance people will believe it as such! A man rising from the dead to prove He is God is just too much and beyond some peoples minds and hearts. But to the few it all of a sudden makes perfect sense... selah... As for me and my household, God is great, God is good and we thank Him for our food...amen..
